Strange things happen with mail here. Packages from completely different addresses are delivered to me. I don’t get my own packages. Schedule re-delivery and each time it NEVER happens. Try to call them— they don’t pick up. I’m generally empathetic with government jobs but this is the worst mail service I’ve ever received. And it’s CONSISTENTLY bad. PLEASE re-train your staff.
Post office made a mistake with my package, but Jeremiah fixed the issue and was really apologetic. Went above and beyond. I was really impressed. Thank you Jeremiah!
Good staff, helped to prepare documents for sending a parcel to Poland and quickly sent it.
The drivers are abso lol cutely awful at following directions, the location doesn't give you any help/incompetent, and can't even prepare redelivery requests. the day passes and nothing happens and now my package is getting sent back when I need it for the holidays. Really wish I could not have to deal with this location
My local post office is a crucial part of my small business. As of writing this I have only lived in Lake City for 3 months and our local mail delivery has been consistently terrible by frequently returning my mail for no reason and marking it as unable to be delivered even though I have my name clearly written in our mailbox. I say this while also understanding that the USPS is critically underfunded and short staffed in 2021. It's a bad situation that seems to currently have no solution. Very disappointed.
It does what I need the post office to do. FWIW, I use the machine to mail packages left of entrance, so I can't speak to signages and lines to the right. I've always had good luck with it. Four stars that they appear to open until 3:30pm on Saturday which is incredibly useful.
This place is very confusing. There are literally hundreds of handwritten or cheaply printed signs on 8x11 paper to read so my guess is people tune them out. Feels like a Dos start screen the amount of reading you are asking people to do. The manager should take some ownership and clean this up and make it look a bit nicer and easier to navigate. Looks like a litter bin and I bet it feels that way to work there.
Rude, unhelpful, and confusing. Friday the week before I asked someone if I could ship a non-standard package doesn't fit in an express box if I could ship, this was at 15 minutes to closing and I was getting a quote for someone. They gave me a quote and rushed me out the door without explaining the details on package preparation or anything. This contrasts with both UPS and FedEx which both gave me quotes, and information on shipping, and will assist you with packing and give you all information up front. This morning I go in with the information given to me, they were curt, unhelpful, and interrupted me while I was attempting to explain my situation. Normally I do not ship with USPS and was unfamiliar with the system, this was a request for a client. I can't tell if they were angry because I was asking for service while they were receiving greeting cards, or if the 2 other people in line, or because I had my phone out with the address to send the package to. I have had better experiences elsewhere in the past, this is definitely an anomaly.
Came into a crowded lobby where most folks were not paying attention to "6 feet distancing" nor were they reading the multiple signs posted everywhere about staying 6 feet apart and packaging your boxes at home or in the lobby area to avoid high traffic and congested areas. One of the postmasters definitely made sure to enforce social distancing, which was nice, although she did it in a very angrily manner. I got lucky and a Mr. Wesley came on shift that morning and was very cordial and happy to be at work. He asked if I wanted my packages sent the cheapest way possible - because why not, "who doesn't like to save money." His good attitude paved the way for a good day and more folks should be like him. I hope they recognize Mr. Wesley for this! Stay positive during these times!
I found the employees to be not knowledgeable and not caring. I was given the wrong information by an employee and after my package came back to me as undeliverable they were rude and extremely bureaucratic sending me to jump through hoops instead of trying to help me. I couldn’t reach the manager for a long time to discuss and fix the situation. If you have choice, stay away from this location in Lake City. Poor management results in unhappy employees who hate their job and clients. It shows through interactions I observed while waiting to try to talk to the manager multiple times. I do love other USPS locations in the area. Go to Kenmore or Woodinville instead - they are super helpful
