Everyone was nice. Line was somewhat long. Moved fast. No problems from my end. Most people are inexperienced when mailing packages. Which translates to more questions and more time. Again the help was helpful.
The post office lady gave me an attitude when I asked about renewing my passport and was kind the to people behind me in line. She did not want to take my passport photo, while the post office does offer this service.
Not sure why this SMALL post office lacks in upkeep, maintenance, organization the entire store is covered in trash on tables, and floors, floors are pretty dirty, all in all the place looks horrendous not at all clean like it once was.
Had to drop off 10 boxes marked "FRAGILE" to the post office this morning and the woman behind the counter took each box off my hands that I was CAREFUL to take out of bags. Takes them and tosses them in to a large bin next to her I then watched as she took EACH box and toss them in. I COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EYES. I mentioned to her that these are Fine Porcelain and and CLEARLY marked FRAGILE she looked at me and said ok. Now I understand why this location has a 2 star review and I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN! I can only hope my boxes arrive intact -ridiculous
The place wouldn’t take a paid package and there was someone there. They closed at 1 and I was in there at 1:05. I just needed someone to grab the package as it’s already paid for. She woman wouldn’t bother. Ignorant at best. I’ve had enough of problems with the post office lately as are many other people. If they do their jobs there wouldn’t be such problems. Smh
The ladies inside are very helpful! I had to return a cell phone and wasn't sure what type of packaging to use. The lady working there told me about her experience with sending a phone back and helped me out. The company got their phone quickly without a hitch, and it only cost me about a dollar to deliver it. The mailbox is also very easy to pull up to, drop it in, and zip right out.
This my favorite post office! Everyone is super friendly and professional. The postmaster greets the customers and makes sure that this location operates efficiently. My packages are always scanned in and delivered to my customers with lightening speed! My local carrier is Ray out of the Tinley Park office and he is the BEST! Between Ray and the Mokena Post Office my perspective of dealing with USPS has changed 100%. Thanks, Thanks and Thanks again!
Bad experience here today. I brought in a package with pre-paid postage for drop-off at the Mokena Post Office 12/29 3:30pm and asked if I could get a receipt. The nicely made-up middle-age very blond Clerk#1 behind the counter said in a not very nice way, "You don't get a receipt because you didn't pay for anything." When I asked, "Well then can you please scan my package?" she said yes, and then dropped my package onto the seat of her chair without scanning it and disappeared into the back of the post office. Aware that the tracking would not be activated until it was scanned, I stood there for a few moments waiting for her to come back and scan my package. When she didn't return, I asked Clerk#2 at the other counter if she would scan my package in. She said of course, and as she reached to do it, Clerk#1 came rushing out of the back, grabbed the package from her, and said to her, "You don't have to scan it!" Clerk#2 reached out and scanned the barcode anyway, just a split second before Clerk#1 sent it sailing a good 6 feet through the air into a bin at the back. I was a bit upset by the whole exchange, and regretfully left there without getting Clerk#1's name, but absolutely questioning whether she was acting in good faith in the handling of my package. Where is the sense in leaving a customer's package sitting on your chair, then trying to prevent a colleague from scanning it to activate the tracking, and finally throwing it halfway across the room into a bin without regard for its contents? ALL IN FRONT OF THE CUSTOMER. This does not inspire confidence that one's package will reach its destination intact, or even at all. I have used this post office before and have for the most part been treated kindly and professionally especially by the people of color, hope this is the PC way to say it. However, I will be going elsewhere from now on, just to avoid encountering Clerk#1. There is a very good UPS location near Lowes/Target, as well as other post offices in the area that are more professional, treat your packages with care, and scan them automatically when you drop them off.
I dread going to this place, and have walked out on multiple occasions due to the fact the line is perpetually long, regardless of what time it is, and there is always one extraordinarily slow person working. It's not just one person in particular--this is has been going on for years. There could be 12 people waiting in line, and still, one person will be handling everything. Going here is a bit like going to the DMV. The New Lenox PO is much better and faster, but sometimes I have to pick up a package that I wasn't home to sign for. The last one got lost, they called all the surrounding post offices, couldn't track it down, and then called me an hour later to say they found it stuck behind a door. Seriously?
I dont use the post office much but I have to say my experience at the Mokena Post office was as good as could be. Rhonda was super efficient and very friendly. If I have to use the PO again I will definitely come back to Mokena.
