Powell Vacuum & Allergy is a 56 -year old company with its roots in San Antonio. The Powell name and reputation is well known. In the spring of 1986, Gerrit Dinkla, at the age of 13, moved from doing odd jobs for the Powell’s at their home to a part time summer job at their San Antonio vacuum store. The mentorship Mark Powell had received 30 years earlier was now being paid forward on the young new comer. By 1990, barely out of high school, Dinkla would become store manager and eventually purchased the company in 1998 after Mr. Powell's passing.
The only change to the name was adding “& Allergy” to reflect a growing demand for vacuum cleaners and other products to address many allergy suffering clients. Powell Vacuum & Allergy continues today fulfilling its mission, to help people make cleaner and healthier homes.
