Great value. Don't be misled by appearance. 3 or 4 units are under repair. Many units still available. Our unit had 1 bedroom with an excellent queen bed and closet. The front room was a living room/kitchenette. Very clean. Friendly staff. Walking distance to town centre.Rooms: 5/5
I’ve stayed at this motel . Yes there was some rooms taped off . But they were closed rooms and under repair . Couple cars in the court yard being repaired yes. None of that affected my stay . Some people that stay take advantage of johns good nature . All of you that have left nasty reviews of this place should keep to your self and be happy there are still people like John left in the world
We stayed at this motel one night in July on the way to the Royal Military College to visit a family member. John was polite and very personable on the phone when I called to book a room and a very gracious host when we arrived he even went out of his way to pick me up from the park because it rained very hard and I was soaked. Thank you again, John! The room was clean, the beds are comfy, everything one needs for a short stay was provided, the recommendations for places to see and eat at were kindly provided. OK, the "curb appeal" might be a bit challenging as parts of the motel are under repair/renovation, but that is not where you are staying, is it, so just don't make it your business. We didn't, and have only good things to say. I'd choose John's motel over faceless and expensive chain hotels where nobody cares about anything other than charging your credit card anytime.
This Little Motel is a Gem, It's Like A Home away from Home. The Rooms are Bright, Clean and Cozy! And The Owner , John goes Above and Beyond to make You feel at Home Nearby activities: Farmers market, and Of Presqu'ile Beach Walkability: Thuis place is walking distance to Groceries, Pharmacy, Restaurants , Liquor and Beer Stores and More Noteworthy details: I Was also Traveling with My Dog and A Kitten, and they were also made to Feel right at home.
John is a very kind host! I arrived without a reservation and he was very accommodating. It is a cash or cheque only motel, but after trying a bunch of ATMs in town without any luck, John let me stay anyway and told me to just send him a cheque in the mail when I got home. He even gave me a cup of fresh milk for my tea in the morning. The motel itself is what you’d expect from any other motel - old furniture and carpets, although the bathroom was updated. The room was clean and functional, with towels, soap, mini fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, and a few dishes provided.
A lot of pros with a few comments. Big enough room and clean as well. Bed covers look older but the bed sheets themselves are pristine white. Plenty of closet space and even a dresser in the room. I like that it comes with a full kitchen with a fridge/freezer, coffee maker and even a stove and oven if you want to cook. At least these were all available in my particular room 19. Cable tv with a few hi-def channels. Fairly quiet, you can hardly hear the train horn from the room. Wifi internet was fast as well and never cut out. Friendly and approachable staff as well. The owner or presumably the owner even made the effort to show me the unit I had reserved to see if it was to my liking before paying for the room - I’ve never had that before, especially not at big name hotels. I quite appreciated that personal touch. Bedroom is separate from the living room and kitchen which is nice if you have one party of your group who likes to stay up late and watch tv the other person can sleep in the bedroom. Water pressure was strong coming out of the shower head. Although the room is a non smoking room, there was a slight stale odour of cigarette smoke when I was first shown the room, but the unit was aired it out enough that it cleared up by the second night’s stay. Towels facecloths and hand towels were clean and plentiful. I never had my room cleaned or towels replaced just as a personal choice save earth resources etc. but the owners advised both towels cleaning are available all I had to do was let them know! Ample free parking is available. As for location, the place is located at the far edge of town, so walking to the main core of town, if you’re looking for food or groceries, is about a 40 min paced walk. Thanks for a great stay!
If there was a star rating less than one, I would have put it. We saw this place on their website and it looked reasonable for our needs so we booked one of their higher priced units. On arrival, we didn't even check in - we thought it was a junkyard. The 'courtyard' was full of jacked-up cars with people working on them, half of the units were covered in tarpaulin which was explained by the owner as being because of the fire - which happened in 2017!! We were shown the unit that we had booked and it was really, really dated was not particularly clean, even the ac unit belched out dust when switched on. One of the screen doors was glass but it was smashed to hell although hanging in place.I suppose I should have taken the hint when I had been informed on booking that they don't take card payments: I wonder why?? If you're thinking of staying here - don't, unless you are expecting appropriately-priced, modest, clean, relatively modern facilities. We wiped our feet on the way out! We were forced to go and find alternative accommodation even though it was after 6pm on a Sunday evening and we had driven miles to get to Brighton.
This quaint motel with a retro look outside has modern, clean, quiet rooms with fridge, microwave, TV, and comfortable beds that guarantee you a good night's sleep . Rates are very reasonable and the owner John is great to deal with. I was here on the weekend, have been here before, and will return. It's an understated gem.Rooms: 5/5
Great rooms for a 2-star motel! Clean. Comfortable. Big fluffy towels. Far more items in room provided than typically found ex: pots, pans, utensils, etc. Rooms: Great size. Clean as can be. Temperature control rooms with kitchen imenities available, tonnes of extras like kitchen utensils, pots and pans, etc... Nearby activities: Super close to downtown Brighton Walkability: Super close to downtown Brighton Noteworthy details: Better towels than you'll find in most 4-star hotels. Thoughtful owners who are more than willing to help and offer more special touches.
Great room great host bed were so comfy .the TV has a buzzing noise that was so irritating it must have to do with the volume control that's connected to the TV and don't try to order food or find food in that town after 9 because nothing is open we were starving. Besides that we slept so comfortably the beds were top notch .Will def stay again but ask for a TV that doesn't buzz the entire time you watch it
