I would not recommend any human being to this hospital. There was NO COMMUNICATION at all between our family and the doctor. I asked several times that the doctor call me and NEVER received a phone call. The nurses knew NOTHING and basically they were like robots! I was unaware that my mom had to go on dialysis until the nurse called me to sign a consent form. I told the nurse that I was unaware that my mom needed dialysis. I then demanded to speak with the doctor before I signed the form. I also spoke with the Case Manager Lisa in regards to my concerns and she was very pleasant. As a result of all of this non-communication, my mom passed away on 6/17/18. This hospital is pathetic!!!
My dad was recently transferred to this hospital by the primary doctor and social worker at St Francis in Lynwood CA. Our first night was somewhat creepy but in the morning when we showed up my mother and another assistant cleaned and prep my dad, we asked to speak to the assigned nurse and nowhere to be found, i was there for three hours waiting. We left early but when my mother returned my dad had to be cleaned and changed again and his blood pressure was 198, keep in mind that he suffered a stroke which caused an aneurysm which we spent 15 days at the other hospital in control. One day at this facility possibly gave him another stroke or nearly ending his life. We understand that is a job but take time to read the charts etc and perhaps us as the family spent 24 hour shifts around him know more about what he needs as he is none responsive!
My mom passed away 5 days ago, the nurses and CNA's at this facility were nice, and caring, we were allowed to stay overnight even we were a big number of people, when the time was closer, they moved mom to a room all by herself so, us, the family could fit. they keep telling every step that was being done for my mom not to suffer pain, Dr Patel, and patient advocate Marie, was very informative and caring, nothing but compliments to these people, May God Bless you always. Thank you so much!
Wonderful experience. Loved the online appointment system. They texted me 40 minutes before my appointment and took me promptly at my scheduled time. The reception staff was lovely to deal with and the facility itself is welcoming and immaculate. I saw one of the owners, a doctor with 30 years of ER experience. She had excellent bedside manner and was very reassuring. I would return here for anything that does not rise to the level of a medical emergency warranting a visit to the ER. Highly recommend!
Through my experience the facility is clean, the landscape is pretty, the parking lot is spacious. The front desk receptionists are very quick in multitasking telephone calls, visitors, and telecom. I never wait too long for assistance. They are pretty keen in observation and helping. Physical Therapists are good and encouraging. Nurses...ehhh....you have good ones, who are informative, helpful, understanding, smart, and loving; while others are the opposite, oblivious, and don't exceed more than the expectation. CNAs, they are great! They always keep my dad clean, however my dad didn't get his rotation every 2 hrs. Doctors, my dad have 3 doctors that travels to this hospital to check up on my dad. They are very concern about my dad's health and want to see him recover quickly. I do have to mention about the call button, do not expect a fast response regardless if it's urgent or not. The wait can be 5min to an hr. or more. The norm for me is 30min. to an hr. What can I say....the staffs are busy...I hope this helps.... Good luck in your stay w/ Promise Hospital. Make sure you have someone visiting you often and checking up on you. If u could go to a better hospital u should. Your health is important and therefore pick better hospital w/ better ratings, care, employees, technologies, doctors, and etc. The one star is the overall rating of care provided.
THIS REVIEW I WROTE APRIL 2017.... The time my Girlfriend spent in ICU was Amazing. The nurses check on her all the time, Wound Care made there normal visits, she was getting turned EVERY 2 hours...... until... she went to Step Down and Med Surg. In the ICU its 2 patients to 1 nurse, in Step Down theres 3 to 1 and in Med Surg its 4 patients to 1 nurse. The bad out numbers the good far as nurses on the floor. They all work three 12s, so they never have energy to respond to the patients when they need them. The Nurses only come in to TURN her only once a day. Its been times my Girlfriend layed in her stool for hours before the CNA or RN came to change her. So ill take matters into my own hands and change her myself. Ive been going to the Hospital EVERYDAY since she was admitted on the 11th of March. My Girlfriend is on a Trach so ive built good relationships with some RTs. To name a few Jenni, Carol, Ingrid, Jazmine, Jennifer, Don. Theyre really good people at heart. Last week Inspectors was walking around evaluating the Hospital making sure everyone is doing there job, that week was the ONLY time i seen people do there jobs. All the workers that work Graveyard does a TERRIBLE JOB. They all be at there stations laughing and talking. But wheres that energy when a patients needs them??? The only time the Nurse comes in the room and tend to my girlfriend or other patients is whens its time to DRUG her/them up, theyre on time for the meds/poison. Ive been with my Girlfriend for 6 years so i know EVERYTHING THATS GOING ON WITH HER BODY. When i try to inform the Nurses and Doctors about there Patient so they would have a clearer picture of whats really been going on with her and we all can be on the same page they dont want to listen to me. I know im not the guardian or Power of Attorney, why not listen to a Guy that Kept all Documents/Records on there patient/my girlfriend? I know Doctors and RNs spend a lot of time in school and they dont want an uneducated person in there eyes to tell them how to do there job. HIPPOCRATES IS THE FATHER OF WESTERN MEDICINE.. " FOOD SHOULD BE YOUR MEDICINE AND MEDICINE SHOULD BE YOUR FOOD ".. FOLLOW HIS METHODS AND YOULL CURE YOUR PATIENTS.. If you want your love ones to suffer let them go to Promise Hospital. Here’s an UPDATE... My woman Passed Away under their care Months Later : She was only 26. I’m WRITING A MEMOIR ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE THERE. MarLynda STORY WILL BE TOLD. That Name should ring a BELL if any STAFF MEMBER IS READING THIS.. YES IM THE BOYFRIEND THAT WAS THERE EVERYDAY ATLEAST 12hrs a Day. and I was even in STEP DOWN ROOM 103D when a RN feel asleep while having 4 patients in the room..IM SPEAKING ALL FACTS NO LIES.. THAT HOSPITAL SHOULD BE CLOSED DOWN.. THE WORLD WILL KNOW HOW TERRIBLE THIS HOSPITAL IS ONCE IM FINISH WITH THIS BOOK.. DONT SEND YOUR LOVE ONE TO PROMISE HOSPITAL .. So I had a family member pass away here. We'll never know whether it was just his time, but what drove me nuts is that his bed phone never operated when he was there. I tried calling several times and the front desk just said it wasn't ringing and they would try to fix it. Since he didn't have a cell phone I never got to talk to him before he passed. Add to the fact that on the last day there he was acting confused. A family member asked if they had given him pain killers for the rehab that day and they said no and to not worry about it. I can't help but think they saw old and just assumed senile, instead of playing it safe and sending him back to the hospital.
I have been a patient in the Paramount Hosp for over a month and I have to say that it is a great place to be recovering from surgery here, the Nursing Staff are all vary nice and will listen to any concerns that you may have about your care and your health, The food is vary good and you can place a order for breakfast, lunch and dinner for anything that isn't on the menu and the kitchen will usually try to prepare it for you. I will not have any hesitation about returning to this hospital again to recover after my next surgery next week for recovering. Sincerely RICK S.
I am very pleased with the care that is being provided for my mother at Promise Hospital in the ICU. Everyone has shown exceptional care towards my mother. The wound care team, respiratory department, EVS staff, the nurses, the front desk and the doctors. Big thank you to Ronald EVS, Melanie, Michy, Dan, Glenda, Ann R, Babita, Cecil ICU staff Ali respiratory. They go out of their way to listen to all of our concerns and questions.
The rehab staff is fair. The nurses, well my average wait time after pressing the call button, for someone to even answer on the intercom, is about 10 minutes although it's gone up to 15. Everything about the hospital is outdated, electrical, you name it. But I will say the place is well landscaped.
