Great little place to go and have some fun! Definitely expect to be there a long time if you're printing something, but there's food and arcade games and nice couches. I don't know if it's a great place to do an actual project due to the prices, but the staff were very helpful and it's a decent place to print up trinkets.
My husband and I stopped merely for a cup of coffee but quickly fell in love with the fun, electrically-charged atmosphere. At Proto you can choose to take a seat at their soldering stations, design and watch as an item is printed via 3d printer, play a game of chess or other board game, win BIG with the world's largest claw machine, or simply hang out with a cup of coffee and snack.
Totally unique experience! I had never 3D printed before, they made it easy and fun! You can have drinks and do a soldering project while you wait for your item to print but be sure to check out the world's largest claw machine
Really cool place! They have 3D printers and kits to build things and soldering stations for you adventurers out there. Coffee and an overall good drink selection. Nice hangout areas and of course the worlds largest working claw machine World Record Book Approved. Really kind and helpful staff and plenty of goodies to discover here. Definitely a spot to make if your in the area.
Awesome atmosphere and very nice staff. Reasonably priced espresso and other cafe drinks. Free password protected wifi for guests.
We went for our 4th anniversary and it was great. It was our first timer and we did not too shabby on our love tester. I would love to come back and make more projects. The atmosphere was very lax and inviting. Props to Proto BuildBar!
Really fun environment to explore diy electronics, 3d printing, and have some good coffee! I would recommend getting a kit, as the work station time is free when you buy a kit. The staff are very helpful, and willing to teach skills like soldering to beginners. This would be a great place to bring kids who are excited about science!
Good coffee and beer, lots of space to get work done, and the fastest internet in town. Easy parking. A great learning experience for all age groups with the maker side of the business. And the world's largest claw machine. What's not to love?
Tom Mitchell was a great host and used a torch to make my latte! The space is warm and inviting and a dream for computer minds. Highly recommended.
I organized a summit for a design team, and had a 3-4 hour event planned here. Alex and team were awesome at walking me through the process and outlined everything for me. In the end, our group of 10 all learned how to solder and had a fantastic time. I would recommend this place to anything who wants to learn something new and spend time in a really unique spot in Dayton. It’s also a fun, unexpected place to bring a team for some out of the box activities and conversations. Everyone really enjoyed it!
