In the day and age of shopping malls closing, Providence Place still seems to be thriving. I recently went there with my daughter for school shopping and found a good selection of store choices as well as affordable options. After driving 80 miles to get here, it was a bit disappointing to see that my favorite store had closed up a few months before. Unfortunately, that is the day and age that we are living in with online competition. The only downside of Providence Place is that you have to pay to park there after a few hours. However, it was not enough to deter us from going there on that particular day.
This is a decent mall with a movie theater inside. HUGE But neat and clean. Very busy here on the weekends. There were a good selection of name brand stores, restaurants and food court options. There were also really nice views as well.
The worst part was construction around the place. As a visitor the signs were confusing. Ensure you are mindful of how to get into parking garage. The shops are nice but to many uncontrolled young people shouting. It was okay, brace yourself for a hassle. Third photo was a joke :
Good variety of shops and restaurants. Dave and Busters is always a favorite. Appreciate the late hours and accessibility to nearby hotel.
The store options are antiquated. And the mall seems very large from the outside but inside is a decent-sized mall. It took us three hours to go around all sections of the mall and eat in the mall. The attractions in the mall was typical of most malls, there are a few interactive places such as Dave’s and Busters. The dinning options are decent. There is a lot of parking option and very reasonably priced - first two hours are free. For three hours we paid $2 total. I will say in general if you are busing close by and want to check out the mall that will be a good use of time but it’s not worth visiting the area specifically for the sake of the mall.
A really beautiful mall. I brought family in from out of town and they loved the place. Especially the women and girls. The picture window was awesome with views of the river and city skyline in the distance. It was nice that the first two hours were free to park. The only negative was one deck of escalators weren't working. Other than that was a great experience and we all spent a lot of money. Great job, Buddy.
As for the mall itself, I have seen many versions of it and many changes since it very first opened. Some periods of time it has been better and even a regular go to location. During 2010 to 2015 is when I hung out their with friends the most. Utilized restaurants, movies, and friendly browsing with friends or dates. But other time frames also had a regularity. In the past 4 years my main annual trip has been during the 12 or 13 days of Christmas . The Epiphany. We go to do our big annual shopping at Boscovs and this year we had fun. Usually find a few deals and leave happy! Now a regular tradition. What I currently do not like is the Japanese type restaurant in the food court that shorted us meat, particularly beef on our orders as I watched them pile up the orders of all others. But enjoy the Mall for future Holidays!! Thanks Boscovs!!
The worst parking I have ever seen. It's relatively cheap, but you will spend at least 30 minutes when you get there and when you leave trying to find a parking spot and just get out. Even if you prepaid, it still does not speed things up in the least. It is an absolute nightmare and I will never be coming here ever again. Absolutely ruined my experience..
Best mall I’ve been to in the northeast for sure. It has a great variety of stores and three full floors. I could spend all day here. The parking garage is so convenient and a good deal as it’s free for the first three hours. Paying for parking is easy too as they have booths near the exits of the mall.
A Warning about Security at Providence Place Shopping Mall I am writing this review to share an unfortunate experience at Providence Place Shopping Mall. Yesterday, I left my scooter at the bike rack outside, only to find it stolen after a mere 30 minutes. The mall security's response to my distress was highly disappointing. Their dismissive attitude was not only unhelpful but also indicated a lack of interest and empathy towards those they are supposed to protect. Instead of immediate action or assistance, I was merely handed a number. Eventually, I received a text stating that they were unable to help, without any attempt made to review the security footage. This incident raises serious concerns about the safety of belongings left outside the mall and the effectiveness of the mall's security service. It is evident that they are more negligent than vigilant, providing little to no assistance when truly needed. In light of my experience, I urge all visitors to Providence Place Shopping Mall to be wary. While it's a great place to shop, the lack of adequate security and service can lead to potential losses and frustration. Ensure to take additional precautions to protect your belongings. I truly hope no one else experiences the distress and disappointment that I went through due to the lack of basic security measures and negligence on part of the mall authorities.
