Proudly serving the Town of Provincetown since 1953. We are a branch of the Provincetown Fire Department.
The Provincetown Rescue Squad members total approximately 30 people. We have EMT-basic, EMT-intermediate and EMT-paramedic levels. Members who live in the service area are considered "regular" members, and those out of the service limits are considered "auxiliary. We have a pay per call system in the off season and a volunteer system in the summer, which is mixed in with the extra crew we put on 24 hours a day in the summer months - a necessity due to extra call volume during Provincetown's 'busy season.' We work in conjunction with Lower Cape Ambulance (Private Company Non-Profit), who works year round 24 hours to provide EMS coverage to the Town of Provincetown and the Town of Truro. The Rescue Squad falls under the direction of the Fire Chief and the Board of Fire Engineers.
To provide quality, affordable emergency medical service to the residents of Provincetown and its many visitors.
We Sell T-Shirts (currently $20/each) in various sizes. These can be purchased at the Fire Station AND when we are at the substation downtown (next door to Adams Pharmacy in the Town Hall block). A schedule will be posted for those who are interested.
Our Raffle will be starting soon. The drawing will be Labor Day Weekend. If you'd like to buy some tickets or make a donation, please contact the Fire Station.
We are always available to take blood pressures at the Fire Station, even on a walk in basis.
We are also seeking FILE OF LIFE information from people to pre-enter your medical information into our new computerized patient care reports. This is not mandatory, but could be EXTREMELY helpful in the event we arrive at your side and you are unable to provide us with information such as medications, allergies and medical history. The COA has forms as does the Fire Station. OR come see us when we are at the substation! :)
