I absolutely love this place So much to choose from and the staff are very helpful. They have Audio books too. It is easy to get lost in the books, just ask them. You can also drop books in other locations if this location is far from you. They are currently doing a renovation, hopefully they include Starbucks in there. It was weird seeing some drug users walk in and out tho, but hey, they have to read too.
My family visited this library and enjoyed it. Lots of homeless people around and people smoking we but once inside it felt safer. We went upstairs and found a cool little button/magnet/keychain maker that costs close to nothing. You can make YOUR OWN buttons for just 10 cenrs. The place also contains 3D printers, an audio studio, high end printers, and vinyl cutters. Cool place. Definitely a gem! Half of the building is under renovation so make sure to enter from the 9th street entrance.
From the makers space to the staff such a Corena, and others there is no better place to unite than the library. It is always welcoming no matter want status you have rich/old/young/poor/lgbtqia and is an amazing resource. Especially as an activist and sole proprietor. Thank you all.
A pillar of the city and county. South building undergoing renovation so all services now moved to North building. Look for the newly renovated facilities to be completed in 2023.
No parking. Update: I came yesterday at 5pm. The street parking is prohibited from 4-6 pm Mon - Fri!
I absolutely love this place!! There is always something to explore, something to do and whatever I need is almost always there. Even if they can't find it, it can be sent to the library of your choice in no time. The children's center has so much to offer for me children and they are both currently hooked on the touch and feel boardbooks. BTW the aquarium at the children's center is lovely. Would recommend to anyone and have many times.
In the heart of downtown, the library is a haven for many. You can enter the library from vine or walnut. A vast selection of books, media and information, this library location has it going on. The makerspace is at this location. In the makerspace you can print a book, make buttons, photoshoot, record in the recording booth and so much more. There are public restrooms, elevators, a gift shop. Also, a children's library. There's a lot that happens here. It is definitely a resource to the community. Checking out their website or calling for details is helpful.
This Library which is the main branch in the city is a monumental piece of the downtown area. Beautiful architecture and layout for a public library, it rivals even many campus libraries. The staff is very helpful and friendly with a few exceptions in the 'security' department and the resources are endless. The amount of literature available is extraordinary, including graphic novels, even games and movies. The new cubicles are a great addition and the charging stations are incredibly helpful although many need replaced they did have a Laptop check out which was amazing; not sure if they still do this. They sell $1 headphones which is great for those in need. The building was two wings with 3 floors, but I believe it is undergoing construction right now. At one point they we're considering tearing it down-- thank God they didn't. They have an art and crafting section on the second floor and much more. I do however wish it stayed open later as some have mentioned before me, but with that being said... This place is more than just a place to read and check out books, it provides a safe place and shelter to those in need, holds events for children and adults alike and holds great history in the city. If you're not from Cincinnati, this is a must see stop while you're here. I myself and surely many others are excited to see what the future holds for the Library as it undergoes these long awaited renovations. Here's to the city of Cincinnati and the marvel of its historic Public Library.
REALLY helpful staff! Also VERY considerate environmental engineers, which is a wonderful improvement!
The place is nice and clean. One can study and think in peace.
