I had shoulder surgery at this hospital and it's the BEST hospital I have ever been to. The staff was absolutely AWESOME!!! They were all friendly, caring and gentle. I never felt any pain.. they numbed me for the IV, sedated me for nerve block and surgery went so well. DR Whitefield is and awesome Orthopedic surgeon, well mattered and really knows what he doing. I LOVED this hospital, I only wish all hospitals were this great!
Having my mammogram Lewis Gale - Pulaski is actually a nice experience. From the personnel at the check in to all of the personnel encountered preparing all of the paperwork, it is a very pleasant experience.. Everyone is so kind and helpful. The technician handling the mammogram is very knowledgeable and capable, kind which makes this a pleasant experience. Most definitely not what I experienced in prior years through Carillon.
My dad was there for 4 nights. 1 night in ICU and the other 3 in Med Surg. They really have some wonderful staff there. All very caring and quick to build personal report. The hospital was clean and everyone was great to work with. They work with the patient and their family for more comprehensive care. Shout out to Miss Sassy on the cleaning crew, she could clean rings around anyone and talks, laughs and jokes the whole time.
I have got to let all women know that the new mammogram machine is NOTHING like the old one! IT DIDN'T HURT AT ALL!!!! Also the staff is amazing they are so kind, attentive and caring they made this dreded time of the year a very positive experience. I highly recommend LewisGale Hospital to every woman who needs a mammogram or any other services.
Each year, I have had an excellent experience and have rated my visit with five stars. But this year, my visit wasn’t as successful. I had to wait in the radiology area for a very long time before I was called for my mammogram. This is never the case. Ten minutes is usually the longest wait. This time my wait was over an hour. Other patients that had appointments at 9AM were still waiting to be called at my appointment time, 10AM. I feel this is unexceptable. Also, my appointment was setup on Monday, for the following Friday. Everything was arranged. However, I received several phone calls and texts every day between Monday to Friday to remind me of my appointment or ask me for the same information. I even received a call from Lewis Gayle in Salem, Va, on Thursday. The lady I spoke too, wasn’t sure why I received a call from them. All of these calls /texts from Monday to Thursday, before my appointment on Friday were excessive. I do hope my next visit will be different.
The only thing I can say is everyone there cares and they show it. I am so happy to have had my surgery there also called the very next day to make sure I was ok and feeling up to par, I have never had that before. Guys keep up the good work on the day shift 7:00 am to 3:00 pm Thank you The Lowrey Family

The staff are kind, compassionate and patient. I had an ER visit in early November for intense abdominal pain, and NP Judy Altizer ordered the scan that saved my life after another provider not in the same hospital had already brushed me off.
Nicest hospital ever! I will always go here! Everyone was so kind and attentive. I have nothing negative to say about them. I couldn’t believe that a hospital could be so great.
Not very patient seemed annoyed when you'd suggest something or ask questions about your condition. I have insurance and I feel like I was sent home worse than I began. Wouldn't listen when I brought up medication that never works til I asked them to pull up records from a different hospital where I received a lot of attention and care to get to the bottom root from UVA
