My niece has to have infusions for her MS, & the nurses there & doctor are amazing. We live 6 hrs away & they do everything they can to make us feel comfortable during our wait, & also give us a room big enough so we can get some rest for our trip back home. They're great people & great at their jobs. The pictures are from the infusion lobby looking out.
A long overdue 5 star rating. My son spent 23 days in the NICU/ Pediatric Hospital following his birth. I can not put into words the gratitude that I feel for UVA Children’s Hospital for the gift of life and health that they gave my family. In a time where I felt so helpless as a parent, I knew that UVA was the very best. All of the nurses, respiratory therapist, doctors, residents, lactation consultants, nurses assistants were beyond amazing. It is truly evident that UVA cares for their patients and employees. I brag about the amazing care that we received whenever I have the opportunity.
absolutely terrible hospital… not only did they miss the cord being wrapped around my baby when i was pregnant sent me home and him almost not making it they missed him being sick after spending multiple weeks in the hospital..
This review is LONG overdue, and to say I am impressed is an understatement. My girl smashed her finger in the door - and it was bad. When I saw it, I knew that finger was going to be lost. Obviously, by the time I got her to the hospital, everyone's nerves were shot. We started at Augusta, and they stabilized her and sent us to UVA Childrens. The common consensus was that they were going to nub her finger and sew flaps over - and I have to say, I am not medical expert, but my career was largely designing networks for hospitals and medical facilities - I have seen some things. It looked like a best option. Obviously, we wanted to save the finger, and admittedly, I begged to at least try. Enter Dr. Rachel Park. Dr. Park assessed the situation, communicated our options, LISTENED to us mainly me begging her to save the finger, etc., and went to work. Not to get too gross here, but honestly, I knew there wasn't any chance of saving this finger - it was a mashed injury, pieces and parts didn't add up. But Dr. Park was on the job! She did her work, explained everything again, and sent us home. Results: I guess we are a month and a half later or so...Dr. Park sewed the old nail in to set the nail bed, and now all stitches are out, the old nail bed is growing back. She has full feeling in her finger, knows what side it being touched, etc., and the scar?? Virtually non-existent! Dr. Park might be an excellent plastic surgeon, absolutely...but she is an ARTIST as well. Dr. Park, if you are reading this, Daisy thanks you. We ALL do. You are a hero to us.
Awful- we were there an entire day- emergency to finally admission and the cardio consult ordered never showed and the ordered tests were never done- we showed up at 8am and while promptly got into the er and saw drs, no one ever showed after that the entire day from the tests and consults they ordered. Seems like they just want to bill more or wait until your child is literally deaths door to pay attention/ or likely both.
My daughter had Tonsilectomy surgery and every doctor nurse & staff member we met were very very educated and very nice! My daughter was in great hands . Being from out of the area and not knowing our way around , every single person we spoke to were willing to give us directions or even show us the way. This is one of the best hospitals ive ever been too. Highly recommend it .
The care from this hospital has been ok, but the billing services are horrendous. Every single time I deal with them it's a fiasco and they make mistakes and want to falsely charge their patients! I made a large payment of over $1000 just to be later told they had no record of it and that I still owed that money. I have to physically take them my bank statement to show them where they took that money out!!! And I had to dispute charges twice because I was charged incorrectly. They refused to remove the false charge at first even though it was their mistake! They also don't approve low income families for financial help like other hospitals do. I will never do business here if I have the choice.
My son sees many of the doctors here. Everyone is really kind and through even with the pandemic going on. They are quick to get back to me with questions I have regarding any of my son's treatment plans or medical concerns. Very happy to have my son being seen here for the past five years.
Doctors here are amazing and the nursing staff is perfect! Everyone knows they are working with kids and have the best attitudes for it. High quality, compassionate care at its finest!
Had my lymph node biopsy here and the staff was so welcoming and so calm. They answered my questions and listened to what i had to say. Could not recommend a better hospital.
