Intended to work alongside the Purdue Old Masters program, the Purdue Rising Professionals program exists to unite distinguished young Purdue alumni with underclassmen to inspire the pursuit of the full Boilermaker experience. Built as part of the Purdue Old Masters program, one of the most honored and rewarding experiences that Purdue University has to offer, the Rising Professionals program looks for individuals who have achieved early career success. Each year, a panel of student leaders at Purdue will select a group of individuals who embody qualifications of extraordinary career and life experiences, well-rounded accomplishments, and involvement during their time at Purdue.
A Rising Professional is someone who made the most of their time at Purdue. The primary role of a Rising Professional is to inspire underclassmen Purdue students, encouraging them to take advantage of the plethora of opportunities Purdue offers. During the program, the Rising Professionals have the opportunity to share their stories about their own professional and personal success, impacted by their unique experiences while they were on campus. Through classroom talks, program panels, and various other events, the Rising Professionals will be able to reach out to all areas of campus. While it is a great honor for those selected, the main goal of the program is to ignite ambition in our Purdue student body and for them to realize the impact that the Purdue experience can have on their futures. The Rising Professionals program believes that bringing back distinguished young alumni who walked down the same corridors as many current Boilermakers will inspire them to chase their own dreams, much like the Rising Professionals did.
The Central Committee, the student-led group that plans the program in its entirety, is supported by both Promotional Officers, and Hosts/Hostesses that have been selected as some of Purdue’s top freshman and sophomores. This year’s program will be on March 5-6, 2017. If you would like to hear from the Rising Professionals, please attend the Campus-Wide Panel in the lobby of the Krach Leadership Center on Sunday, March 5th at 4:00 PM. The Rising Professionals will be discussing how their experiences at Purdue helped to push them to the early career success they have demonstrated. Food will be provided.
Rising Professionals unites distinguished young alumni with current students to inspire the pursuit of the full Boilermaker experience, by embracing tradition of the Old Masters program.
