The Quadrangle is the common name for a cluster of museums and cultural institutions in Metro Center, Springfield, Massachusetts, on Chestnut Street between State and Edwards Streets. The Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden, in the center of the Quadrangle, is surrounded by a park, a library, four active museums, a fifth museum due to open in 2017, and a cathedral. A second cathedral is just on the Quadrangle's periphery.Merrick ParkOn the corner of Chestnut and State Streets, Merrick Park is distinguished by sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens "The Puritan," a statue depicting one of Springfield's settlers, Deacon Samuel Chapin. Springfield Central Library and Christ Church Cathedral are adjacent to the park.Springfield City LibraryThe Central Library, constructed in 1913, was paid for by Andrew Carnegie. It is the second library to be built at that location. The nonfiction department is based in Rice Hall (named for William Rice), consisting of a main floor and mezzanine. Opposite Rice Hall is the Arts and Music Hall, where multimedia, periodicals, and the computer lab are based. The circulation desk lies in the rotunda between the two halls. Fiction, children's literature, and community rooms are in the basement. The Central Library also has a Teen Advisory Board — a grouping of teenagers who help make decisions and organize events at the library geared towards teenagers.

"Located in the heart of downtown Springfield, Massachusetts, the Springfield Museums offer access to five world-class museums, including the Amazing World of Dr. Seuss Museum and the Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden, all under a single admission."

Great experience! Loved the Nelson Stevens exhibit. The science museum was also really nice! It's really a great place for the whole family for the cost of one museum, you get 5!!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitPrice for adult entry$6–10
We loved the Springfield Museums. You can't beat a deal of 5 museums for the price of one plus free parking. The art museums were very nice. The science museum is fun and has a lot of interactive things. The history museum was great and very interesting. The Hasbro Gameland part in the History museum was so much fun! The Dr. Seuss museum was adorable. The sculpture garden was whimsical and beautiful. My only minor critic is there is nowhere on premises to get lunch. I wish they had a cafeteria or food court of some kind because half way through our day we were starving. I highly suggest packing a cooler with lunch and leaving it in the car. When you get hungry half way through the day you can go grab lunch and then finish your museum tours.
Lovely museums for all ages! Lots to see! Had a great afternoon there! Highlight was Dr. Seuss museum, tour guide was great and relayed interesting biography on Dr. Seuss. Although we do not live in the area would love to return one day. Nice gift shop as well!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
5 museums and we only finished three. A great place for kids. Each kid had a blast and it's hard to meet three boys expectations. Will be back to discover the last two museums when weather gets warmer.
Went to this along with the Dr Seuss Museum and had a good time. It's definitely on the smaller side but still had interesting facts and exhibits to look at. The kids loved the easiness of it and we're very interested in most all of the exhibits.
I was visiting from our of state and decided to visit these museums. I only had to to go to the science and fine arts museums. The science museum you can go through in an hour or so and had an easy layout to follow. The trex they have is a little odd looking but it's still fun. The fine art museum was very interesting. I personally was enthralled in the glass exhibit by Josh Simpson. His glass work is beautiful! Overall it was a fun experience, the staff was all very friendly and helpful.

I've been going to this museum since I was little and I always loved it! The exibits are absolutely beautiful. Not too much has changed over the years but it's nice the way it is so im glad it hasnt changed. I do wish there were more hands on activities for kids to help them learn and stay busy. Most of the museum is looking around unless there's something planned for the day.
A lovely surprise to see these museums not far from our hotel. We loved the Dr Seuss museum and we’re quickly taken back to the lovely books we read to our children. While we enjoyed see the history of this loved author it was fun to take a few photos with the Grinch and the Cat in the Hat. While visiting we stopped in at the Blake Cafe and enjoyed the delicious apple and butternut soup and tuna melt. Afterwards we went on to enjoy the Art and Science Museums. We highly recommend!
Wonderful museum. The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially in the science area. Lots to see from dinosaur tracks and bones, to art, science and history. The Dr. Seuss museum is fun and colorful as well.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
