When I first went in I used the bathroom which was horrendous. It smelled awful and there was paper all over the floor. Upon going to the table it wasn't much cleaner if I'm being honest. We ordered simple food, my wife got the hangover burger and fries and I ordered chicken wings. She asked for her burger to be well done and it was medium rare and had no flavor. My chicken wings weren't bad but I got the ti and cracker and honestly the only flavor came from the blue cheese dressing. I was very disappointed I would not go back to this restaurant.
Great food. Cory was our sever, He did a great job. Dessert was fantastic. They atmosphere is awesome right on the Vermilion river. They even a had DJ tonight giving out prizes g or answer questions from time to time. I had the Rib n Chix Combo with fries n slaw. Buckeye BBQ sauce. The Wife had a Biker Salad so big she cut it in 1/2. It looks so good I will eat this for lunch 2maro. We had pretzels and beer cheese and what a great start to out meal.
This particular Quaker Steak location is showing signs that it has run its course. I hadn't been here for awhile because I had heard so many negative things about it. We used to come here regularly in their early years and enjoyed riverfront dining in a casual atmosphere. Today, the food quality has fallen way below par. For starters, their boneless wings are not great - small and dried out and were served cold. The chicken sandwiches were dried out too. This was a slow night and we waited about 30 minutes for these items to come out from the kitchen. For 10 minutes, there was not a single staff member anywhere to be found. I joked with our party and other nearby patrons about making our own drinks. I will add that the table was sticky...probably has been wiped down with a dirty rag. I generally don't leave undesirable reviews I prefer to give raves for great experiences, but I wanted to share with others that you might want to go elsewhere in town or down the road. If you like Quaker Steak, head down the road to the Sheffield location. I haven't been there in awhile but it has to be better than this smaller location.
My husband and I were originally trying to find a place to have dinner that we don't have near where we live but the location of Quaker Steak drew us in. Since it was a hot and humid day, we opted to eat indoors. Luckily we scored a table by the windows so we could still enjoy the view. Beautiful view as the sun set. Our server, Amara, was the sweetest and offered suggestions to us even though she no longer eats meat. My husband got a bacon cheeseburger and I got the fried shrimp. I have only ever eaten shrimp with cocktail sauce but Amara recommended I try the boom boom sauce. Nice change but I still ate the cocktail sauce too. Our food was hot, drinks were cold and the service was excellent. I'd recommend if you're ever in Vermillion, to have at least one meal or just some drinks at this Quaker Steak & Lube restaurant Parking: Plenty of parking in their lot right in front of the restaurant Wheelchair accessibility: Even though there are stairs leading up to the entrance, there's a elevator to take 1-2 people up to the doors
10 of us on bikes rode out and they were able to seat us immediately. We had one girl that took our orders and served us efficiently and fast with a smile! Food is always great! Would have loved to sit outside and there were tables but they said not enough help.
Great location on the river. We had burgers and appetizers that were really good . The wings have been undercooked. Staff seems maxed out with 20% seating and pretty selective on who they want to serve. We came off the lake after a forenoon of fishing 1pm and waited 20 minutes for anyone to show up at our table. Is the outside balcony for customers with pets or closed to fisherman only for yacht owners Your staff seems confused ?
This wasn't your normal Quaker Steak & Lube. Besides the food being great, the surroundings were beautiful. It was set in the middle of a harbor off Lake Erie. Sailboats and Powerboats galore. Very neat to watch them come and go. We slso got to see them lift a large boat out of the water for winter. Not very crowded but go early if you want a porch seat in the summer. Up to a three hour wait.
Our food was great and the hosts were very kind and helpful to our large group of seniors who went out to lunch, but our server was incredibly rude. I understand that restaurant staff is stretched thin these days, and I made sure to call a day ahead for a reservation. Our server was very short with us and kept sharply cutting our residents off and being visibly impatient/frustrated when our residents asked her to repeat herself. She mixed up a lot of our orders and then got angry that we were trying to figure out whose food was whose. I'm not sure if she was the only one working or if she was having a bad day, but it was definitely an uncomfortable experience. We were basically too afraid to ask for anything other than the bare minimum. She brought all of our checks back before asking if we wanted dessert and got annoyed that some residents wanted dessert. I felt like we had to apologize to her for even coming in since it seemed like such a visible inconvenience. I understand working with older adults has it's challenges, but they have a right to an enjoyable dining experience. Just a shame that an otherwise delicious meal was overshadowed by such rude service.
The fries were delicious, the wings were ok, I didn't like the barbeque sauce they had for the wings, it had a sweet taste to it like if sugar was added. I was not a fan of that. The service was very pleasing though. She was a very kind lady.
My first trip to Cleveland and had no idea what to expect. They are known for their wings, but I had wings the night before. So I went with the fish and chips. It was good. Lots of selections on the menu and the décor was unique. Right on the water.
