The Quincie Douglas Branch Library opened in 2005 near the Quincie Douglas Neighborhood Center. The 10,000 square foot library was a culmination of a neighborhood and city planning process to enhance services in the community.

The $3.5 million facility, which was funded by voter-approved bonds from the 2000 election, includes a computer lab, study rooms, and a meeting room, which serves as an important community gathering place.

The library is named in honor of neighborhood resident and community advocate Quincie Bell Sims Douglas (1905-1986), who was active in the Model Cities program that brought neighborhood centers, sidewalks, street lights, and food programs to the disadvantaged areas of Tucson. Douglas, a champion of the poor and the elderly, also spearheaded the Low Income Free Transportation Services (LIFTS) program, which is now known as the Sun Van transportation service.

Best little library in the area. They have wifi, of course; but also activities for kids and teens. My visit was pleasant, with lots of space to get my work done.
I was coming here to compliment the library but then I noticed something.... We don't need cranky people like a certain complainer in these reviews gatekeeping books. We need kids in the library! I know the library is supposed to be quiet but kids experiencing joy while surrounded by books will always be completely fine with me. It's a public space and children are part of society. Props to the staff for having their priorities straight and not letting Mr. Karen push anyone around.
Wonderful library for kids, allowed to check out up to fifty items! The staff really adores the children and seem to have programs constantly running to keep children engaged; last time we visited they had free lunches for kids and were given one free book to take home. My son got his own library card and loves the kids section.
This was my first summer visiting Quincie Douglas Library. I was so impressed. There were lots of board games, STEM events, free hot healthy lunches for the kids, and super clean bathrooms. It's a short walking distance to the summing pool. A longer walk to the children's playground area. It was well maintained, clean, and had alert staff watching for everyone's safety. Loved this library!
Long gone our the days of libraries being somewhat Quiet. Between children running rampant between isles and screaming at the top of their lungs like on the playground. Many people complained to Security person who was told by library staff sit down and watch the door, don't bother the children. I get it the library staff was actually louder than children, laughing like at a outside venue. At one time one screamed she was laughing so hard, I believe everyone should enjoy work. Here's a thought children at library is great, have a playroom where they can be as loud as they want and the rest of us can also enjoy our time as well without playground sound. Library staff's take was are they bothering anyone else, you mean the other dozen people who walked out and complained to Security person at door. Went to another library so much more quiet will not return here!
I was disappointed because the hours changed. They are closed on Saturday and Sundays. Check the new hours before going. The library is beautiful and the librarians are great. Loved the new way of making copies fast and easy.
GREAT PLACE! THEY HELP YOU ALOT AND ARE VERY KIND AND CURTEOUS! VERY RESOURCEFUL TOO! THANKS QUINCIE DOUGLAS FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT! GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS!
One of my favorite libraries to visit. The staff are helpful, knowledgeable, and ready to provide additional information about resources within the library and the community. The library has recently brought back the culture pass which can be checked out for a week visit different places within the community and surrounding areas. Hoopla digital app has allows for access to the libraries digital options. I highly recommend any public library within our community as they have so much to offer. God blessed the Quince Douglas library.
Not my favorite library. There's a lot of homeless people so i don't feel that it is safe for kids. They do have security guards at least at night, but there's nothing for toddler ages. Very small but clean bathrooms!
The library staff is always very helpful to me, today they helped with a letter of recommendation, for an art exhibit I had at the Columbus Ecstrom branch. They are very kind.
