Description

"Tacos are the most important meal of the day." - Rusty

A fun, fast-casual taco concept featuring street-style tacos, all made from scratch. Warm chips, house-made salsas, refreshing Margaritas, and ice-cold beer round out the experience.

"Simply put and simply made, Rusty Taco® is just that. Deliciously uncomplicated tacos, crafted by hand and created by a legend who famously said, “Tacos are the most important meal of the day.”Rusty Taco has no rules and no pretense. Rusty Taco is inspired by authentic street taco stands and is deeply rooted in the community, serving one guest at a time. An experience born at Rusty Taco’s original location where our founder’s names are still etched in the parking lot cement.Rusty Tacos aren’t made by chefs, they’re inspired by a dream. Rusty Fenton traveled near and far, from tiny gas station windows to Mexico’s freshest beach side taco stands to create a menu that was based on authentic taco stand experiences."

We rented the taco truck for our party and it was perfect! The truck showed up at the time they said they would, they set up and got to work. They were polite and fun to work with. At the end of the party they packed up drove away and you didn’t even know they had been there. Definitely worth the money, the food was amazing as usual. My only advice is order extra Queso, it’s so good!
Nachos with queso and steak was bomb, thin cut tortilla chips are my favorite but the sopapillas were close to home, fresh with cinnamon/sugar and honey, mmm so good!Dine in: YesTakeout: YesCurbside pickup: Yes
I love Rusty Taco’s food and normally go to the Minneapolis location, but this Eagan location was really nice and had a lot of outdoor seating. I did have a mixup with my tacos and was unfortunately given battered fish after ordering grilled. No biggie, but if you have celiac/are gluten free that is something I would remind them of. I’ve had a similar experience at the Minneapolis location. They say they default to using corn tortillas, but again I would just remind them when ordering if that is a dietary need that you have.
My picadillo taco was mushy and gross. Went to eat my other taco had a hair in it. Chips and queso were gross and unflavorful. Employee forgot I ordered a margarita until I had to go back inside and ask for it. Everything was dirty inside and gross. Not coming back, would rather go somewhere else.
I liked this place the very first time I went back in 2021, since then it has gone down hill for me. I still go every now and then to see if it all depends on who’s working and how they cook it. I went again today because my daughter wanted the chips with queso never go wrong with that I ordered the fried shrimp taco and a water from fountain. The water tasted funny so I dumped it out and poured more in and it still was bad. I look at where the ice comes out and there is “pink slime” inside where the ice comes out. They don’t clean the machine from the looks of it…at that point I just bought a coke in the bottle. For the price of the taco, it could have been better, way too much coleslaw in my opinion but I just removed what I didn’t want.
Efficient service, cheap prices friendly staff and great tacos!
I love the tacos at Rusty Taco especially the fish and shrimp tacos. The baja sauce is so tasty ask for some extra on the side. Rusty Taco by far has the best salsa ever created; I'm not a fan of large chunks; the consistency of Rusty Taco's salsa is absolutely perfect - I would eat it daily if I could! Vegetarian options: The cauliflower taco is delicious. Kid-friendliness: Great options for kids; my daughter loves the queso. Parking: Plenty of parking shared with other establishments
The heart and soul of a taqueria is the humble taco. A good taco must be piping hot off the grill and bursting with flavor. The “tacos” served here are lukewarm, pretty bland, and eating them feels like a chore. The guacamole is pretty good though.
I came here for the first time because I had gotten mailed coupons for buy one get one tacos and $5 gift card. Never eaten here because it looked like an americanizad version of a taco spot and that’s exactly what I got with my experience. I ordered three fajita tacos, my girlfriend some nachos, and churos. The tacos themselves looked colorful but don’t hold a candle to authentic tacos you find at other places in the metro area. They where ok at best. Their salsa options are pretty weak but I do like that they have a fridge full of them for you to grab. The nachos where good although you get all the good stuff on top and then it will get cold and harden fast that the rest of the nachos at the bottom are left “naked”. The churros where honestly the best thing, and would definitely come back just for churros. Their patio section is nice with lots of seats. Overall I would say this is a good spot for happy hour if you’re just coming for beer, nachos, and churros.
My 2nd try at this location and I will not go back. First time my steak was so chewy I had to throw it away. Today I tried the Texican and the taco meat was cold, dry, and seemed old like leftovers. Very gross and won’t be back. Just figured I would add to all the other bad reviews this place has.
