This is a really great record shop! There was a great variety of genres/artists and albums, new and used. The bathroom wasn't exactly clean, but it wasn't gross. All the people working were very kind!
This is an Oly institution. They've been around as long as I can remember and have always been a source pf local and underground acts. If you love records, you should love rainy day. They also have an assortment of old local concert fliers which os an amazing piece of local history.
One of the most friendly record shops I’ve visited! Immediately was greeted and I asked for a tough to find record. The staff looked it up they didn’t have it but I’ve been looking for this particular one for a while and while we browsed they followed back up with telling me that the artist had recently released a new album and it would be easy to get. 10/10 for customer service.
They buy my records at good prices, and I buy theirs at great prices too. They order things for me, and I found Panda Bear’s “Young Prayer” in the used new arrivals today. It was like magic! I’ve been looking for that record for years!
Absolutely killer record shop. Great selection of oldused stuff, but I mostly go for the very well curated offerings of new vinyl. You can also find cassettes, VHS, and some video disc too.
Always a great local record shop to stop by and look around in! They do a good job of getting in new/current artists records as well as older, indie and other nuance genre records as well! They also have a small selection of record player accessories, posters, CD's, movies, and I believe manga!
My partner has been shopping here for years, and between the two of us, we’ve bought 20+ vinyls and several CDs. Recently though, we’ve had some very uncomfortable experiences here. The employees stare at us and give us weird looks, and it really feels terrible. They make us very uncomfortable and it seems like they’re suspicious of their paying customers. And when I leave my purse behind the counter, I feel very uncomfortable because the cubby is right by the door and anyone has access to it. Especially when the door is wide open and anyone could take my purse with all my important belongings. We’ve also been made to feel inferior when one employee told us “we don’t carry THAT kind of music” when we asked about a popular jazz artist. I just feel that some of the employees here make the experience not worth coming by to shop.
Rainy Day Records is an independent record store located in Olympia, Washington. It's known for its selection of vinyl records, CDs, and music-related merchandise. The store offers a diverse range of music genres, including new and used releases. As with any independent record store, Rainy Day Records contributes to the local music scene by providing a place for music enthusiasts to discover and purchase physical copies of music.
Very helpful staff. Even tho they didnt have a record i was looking for, they researched it online to check availability. When a staff employee spends 15 minutes helping, i call that great customer service. I wish i caught her name. Ive bought from this store before, and found some great lps at very reasonable prices.
Nice lil small place I was quite surprised with their selection of hip hop/rap. As alot of record stores don't really care for it. They had a handful of new titles aswell which was cool. It was very hot and stuffy in there so I had to cut my visit short. But definitely worth checking out.
