Random Access Gallery is an experimental, graduate student run gallery at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York.
The Random Access Gallery seeks to provide current graduate students with a space to expand upon their practice by contributing to cross-departmental dialogue.
The gallery exists as an outlet for VPA graduate students to broaden the scope of interdisciplinary collaboration and cross-departmental programming in the arts at Syracuse University. Through dynamic curatorial initiatives and inclusivity, Random Access exists as a space for experimentations to be brought forth in the sense of a collective “we” rather than in the spirit of an “I”. That said, Random Access is inherently not a space for individual exhibitions or for the exhibition of thesis work.
Random Access Gallery enriches the arts community within Syracuse University and Syracuse as a whole through both graduate-organized programming as well as Visiting Artist exhibitions. Visiting Artist exhibitions inform students by encouraging them to connect to other communities regionally, nationally and internationally. Through its programs, Random Access seeks to bridge interests while expanding the Syracuse VPA Graduate network.
