Kris graduated from Franklin Pierce University in 1996 with a B.A. in Biology/Pre-med and spent the next four years working as an orthopedic and research assistant for several Boston area surgeons treating sports injuries and degenerative diseases. It wasn't until 2000, after sustaining a severe hip injury while competing as a brown-belt in Tae Kwon Do, she discovered Yoga. It became her primary rehabilitation and sparked what has become a life long study of holistic healing and living.
In 2007, Kris became a licensed massage therapist and continued her training at the Kripalu Yoga Center in Lenox, MA where she became a certified practitioner in traditional Ayurvedic treatments. Since then she has run a successfull full time massage therapy practice in popular Davis Square in Somerville, MA offering therapeutic massage and Ayurvedic treatments. Her treatment approach with clients is interactive and goal-oriented, with a dash of tough love when necessary.
In 2009 she advanced her studies at the Jiva Institute for Vedic Studies in Haryana, India focusing on Ayurvedic diagnostics and pathology, as well as the creation of medicinal, herbal oils. In June 2015 she graduated from the Kripalu School of Ayurveda and is a certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor and 500-hr Ayurvedic Yoga Teacher. She is a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) and National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA). Her original workshops on repetitive strain injuries and introduction to Ayurveda have been taught in Boston area yoga studios and at the renowned Omega Institute for Holistic Living in Rhinebeck, NY.
