Got a strawberry shortcake here for a birthday. It was very presentable, well kept when I arrived, packed nicely for the road, and when I cut into it and tasted it- it was so worth ordering it. It was light and had the right amount of sugar, wasn't too sweet. Will definitely order here again.

Easily one of the best places to have gone for bread and pastries of all kinds. The service was always great and everything was always baked fresh and reliably delicious. So sad to see this place go... A true local gem

Neighbourhood gem for Italian sandwiches. 4$ will get you sandwich loaded with your deli meat of choice. Quick tip for first timers: you're expected to pick out your own sangy bun from the bins, and then bring it to the deli counter, where you order the meat. Choice of toppings include: pickled eggplant, hot peppers, lettuce, tomato, cheese cheese for an extra dollar. First time I went I didn't know what I was doing, and the lady seemed a bit exasperated when I asked for clarification. I thought she was a bit rude, initially, but maybe that may have been a bit of a language barrier? Not sure. Anyhow, that one lady has warmed up since my initial encounter. Everyone else in the shop is great. I haven't tried too many of their pastries, had a turnover and that was good, something else was good but not amazing. This is my go to spot in Markham for a cheap sangy and a latte.
