Would’ve been 3 stars but the IMAX is worth an extra star. I haven’t been to this movie theater in a very long time. And not just because of COVID. That’s out of the way let’s have a review. We went to see the 11am showing of Black Widow on the IMAX. Got there a little early to get snacks, maybe play a few video games, check out our seats even though they were reserved seating. But it was a little after 10:30am. And the doors were locked. Oh. That’s a surprise. The box office and the doors were closed. I guess they won’t open until a little closer to 11? Maybe? Luckily the theater provided shade from Bakersfield killer sunshine. But we had to wait outside a few minutes. Why not have us wait in your empty foyer where you have video games and stuff? Not winning any points here. Once inside the foyer was nice and clean. Staff member was nice and enough to hold the door for us after he unlocked the door. The snack counter had plenty of staff to help everyone. Fresh popcorn and fresh stocked candy. The theater was clean. Seats were good. They recline a little but not the full lounge chairs I’ve been accustomed to at other theaters. The screen and audio experience was the reason for the extra star. And they did not disappoint. People tell me it’s not a “True” IMAX but hey for Bakersfield. It’s close enough. My movie experience was delightful but not mind blowing. Still a really good theater. Applies to the IMAX theater…I don’t have any experience with the regular screens I would recommend people to come here.
This is an amazing theater. The lay out is perfect. When me and my partner went it doesn’t seem like they had the movie cards up too display what movie is screening. Overall very amazing place for some family and friends day out to the movies.
It's a great place for family time and movie date night but there staff needs too step it up and be faster when they have a long line of people waiting. Also they need too open up the second snack bar too shorten the lines up front. But other than that it's a great place.
Went to watch Avatar 2 in IMAX 3d. I wasn't disappointed. It was a great experience and the theater was clean. I have no complaints, and think I'm being generous with 4 stars.
I had alot of fun! Saw my first 3D movie, Avatar: Way of the water, it was pretty. The service was great and the concessions were reasonable, overall, great experience I will probably go back again.
Movie was good, seating area clean. The lobby and snack bar was well staffed, because not too many people attending on a Wednesday evening.
I enjoyed my IMAX experience watching Avatar, the way of water. My concessions experience was fair. I ordered large popcorn that was the scraps of the previous batch. My fault for not asking them to fill my bucket with fresh popcorn, but I had minutes empty my bladder before the film began . It was a long movie, and I still rushed to the WC when it was over.
I watched the avatar2 in imax. The cinema lost stars in lack of food and beverage verity. All you have is basic popcorn and pretzel’s. Other cinemas offer full meals and alcoholic beverages. The seats are comfortable but only 2.5 star comfort.
We saw a movie in IMAX 3D. The price was high but the quality was good. Not great. The movie had to be restarted because it froze a few minutes in. I know humans have been spoiled by the reclining seats that have become the rage, but this theatre doesn't have them and I found that disappointing. Honestly, go to to the AMC or the Maya. It's more comfortable. The Reading does have the bonus if being in a mall and that means when the movie is over there is shopping and abundant food. It is the narrowness of the aisles and the hard form of the seats that are getting this a 3 star rating. Also, Sunday is their day to promote family packages, so you can't buy whatever you might want from the menu that day. I'll be going back to AMC from now on. Unless I want over priced food court fodder afterwards.
Went and saw the new Spider-Man........Definitely worth seeing on the big screen.......didn't like the $5.50 bottle of water, but they gotta make money too
