after experiencing all the theater has to offer, it is a good old fashioned cinema in a good way and i recommend it. obviously it’s not better than maya, but in my opinion it’s better than AMC for it has stadium seating, more space, and a better screen. the theater has imax which had amazing sound and an incredible screen. no recliners however, as i stated it’s a little old fashioned. outside of imax it’s a bit squished and claustrophobic but if you can get past that, it’s a decent theater that’s #2 on my list for bakersfield theaters.
Took the kids to see the new Spiderman since it's half off Tuesdays it was surprisingly not too crowded the popcorn was good
The staff at the box office was super friendly and changed our tickets without any problems when we wanted to see an earlier show at IMAX. Unfortunately, the seats in the hall are no longer in too good shape, the fabric on my chair was already quite torn and next to me the chair was completely broken - at least I could then put my bag on it. Sound and picture were fantastic though, so the overall movie experience was definitely a treat! Since we were here for the first time, I can not judge the condition of the other rooms.
Terrible experience here. The entire theater is extremely old and outdated especially the seating. It was also extremely hot throughout the day. We went to two movies once in the Am and later the same afternoon. It was hot everywhere, the lobby,, the bathrooms and especially in the theaters. If you want to remain competitive update your facility and listen to your customers.
Would’ve been 3 stars but the IMAX is worth an extra star. I haven’t been to this movie theater in a very long time. And not just because of COVID. That’s out of the way let’s have a review. We went to see the 11am showing of Black Widow on the IMAX. Got there a little early to get snacks, maybe play a few video games, check out our seats even though they were reserved seating. But it was a little after 10:30am. And the doors were locked. Oh. That’s a surprise. The box office and the doors were closed. I guess they won’t open until a little closer to 11? Maybe? Luckily the theater provided shade from Bakersfield killer sunshine. But we had to wait outside a few minutes. Why not have us wait in your empty foyer where you have video games and stuff? Not winning any points here. Once inside the foyer was nice and clean. Staff member was nice and enough to hold the door for us after he unlocked the door. The snack counter had plenty of staff to help everyone. Fresh popcorn and fresh stocked candy. The theater was clean. Seats were good. They recline a little but not the full lounge chairs I’ve been accustomed to at other theaters. The screen and audio experience was the reason for the extra star. And they did not disappoint. People tell me it’s not a “True” IMAX but hey for Bakersfield. It’s close enough. My movie experience was delightful but not mind blowing. Still a really good theater. Applies to the IMAX theater…I don’t have any experience with the regular screens I would recommend people to come here.
Bad service, I wanted to buy a large popcorn and two drinks and the employee didn't want to sell me it. He wanted to sell me candy, I told him that I only wanted popcorn and drinks and he refused to sell me what I want and wanted to sell me candy when I can eat candy because of my diabetes. So I just walked way because they want to sell you they want and not what the customer wants.
Will not be back , my kids had a money night and I gave them money to spend !! popcorn is $7 hot days $2 tell me why 2 hot dogs and one popcorn at $25 dollars !! Insane how employees think they can over charge teens !!
Enjoyed many movies here over the years, I think it's the only IMAX theater in Bakersfield, Theater isn't too bad, plenty of snacks available when you walk in and prices are reasonable for the tickets.
Movie was good, seating area clean. The lobby and snack bar was well staffed, because not too many people attending on a Wednesday evening.
Great staff very friendly. Experience was overall a 10 out of 10. Seats are comfortable and clean. No complaints from me.
