I was able to find the size/type of couch I needed really quickly and that part went well. I paid $69.00 for delivery. The delivery person was on time. However, he plopped the couch in front of the old couch and refused to touch the old furniture when asked. The couch was for my daughter's respite house and the staff there was unable to feed one of the severely disabled clients because the old couch was in the way and the delivery person would not help get it out of the way. Luckily, my husband and I were able to get over there pretty quickly and move the old couch. I understand the policy, but I think it is mean and uncaring to not assist the caregiver in moving the old couch so that the person in the wheel chair had access to lundh. REALLY?
Starting from the beginning... On January 19, we purchased $4,600 worth of new furniture. The buying experience was quite pleasant and we enjoyed our sales person. We were told it would be 6 weeks, not 6-8 weeks but 6 weeks. This was very important because we wanted it in time for Easter when our 20-member family would be here. When I hadn't heard by the 8th week, I called the company to get a status. It was a Sunday night and the person at Reclinerland said they would call me on Monday after they'd called the company. On Monday, I called the store back at 4 pm because no one called me back. The man said it wouldn't be here until the end of the month or 12 weeks. What struck me here, was the complete lack of explanation or customer service. I would ask him questions and I received either silence or "I don't know what to tell you" which is what he said three times to me. I finally asked if there was a manager and he said, "I'm the manager for 20 years." This was appalling. I couldn't believe this came from the manager...not a sorry or anything. The responses I got were "I don't know what to tell you; what do you want me to do about it; and complete silence. It wasn't until I pulled it from him, he agreed to refund the minor $99 delivery charge. Now I can live with the fact my furniture is late, six weeks late now. But for someone not to call me and tell me is atrocious. I do not feel valued as a customer or my business appreciated. And then to speak with the organization's managerial staff and be met with complete disdain as a customer means I will never be back or recommend your store to my friends and family.
