At Red Beard Fitness our goal is to help people create habits for a lifetime of fitness and wellness. We hold classes Monday through Saturday in the old Pontiac dealership, next to Chesney's Carpet, at 516 E. Main Street. Workouts are a mixture of cardio, gymnastic movements and weights and focus on building lean muscle and endurance. Classes consist of a group warm up and WOD (workout of the day) and typically last 45 minutes to an hour. Nutrition help is offered in classes and via email. Ask your coaches if you'd like to set a goal to change your health!
There is no experience necessary, as our coaches will show you each movement prior to the WOD starting. New members will do scaled movements according to their needs. Strength training benefits everyone from runners to triathletes to those who spend most of their time on the couch. You don't even have to be able to do an air squat as EVERY movement can be modified for your current ability level. We highly encourage people who have never tried weights or HIIT to contact us if you're unsure about joining us. When we started these workouts (in Nashville) three years ago our coaches completely changed our lives and fitness level. Now we hope to do the same for people in our community.
Safety is extremely important to us. You're not getting healthier if you're injured. Aside from teaching movements prior to class, our job is to watch your form to assure you're doing lifts correctly. You will be asked to scale or stop a movement if it is not done properly or is not altered when we correct you. Intensity is part of what makes this work, but we ALWAYS focus on form over speed. Full olypmic lifts are performed for strength and rarely enter wods. Health is more important than your ability to do something quickly.
