My husband and I stayed in #2, the king room and it was spacious and cozy. The grounds are beautiful and the owners were great. The rooms are decorated with thought and there is even a stuffed moose to greet you when you walk in. Painted rocks all over the place, be sure to walk around! You can tell that a lot of love and work was put into this little Baldwin gem. This was our first time staying here and I would do it again.
Hotel room was very clean and comfortable. Owner creates an unnecessary hostile, strange environment. She made stinks over requests to turn the heat on in the common room, use a garden hose to wash off bikes so as to not track dirt in rooms and request for a hair dryer. Note: there are several other hotel options in Baldwin than what is shown on internet. Call Chamber for information
72nd st House was clean. So much room. Great having a full kitchen with pretty much everything you would need. Do not have more than 6 people there. Listen to the owners.Rooms: 5/5
We recently had an excellent stay for a few nights at the Red Moose Lodge. Our room and bathroom was spotless - extremely clean. You can certainly tell lots of care and thought go into the rooms from not only the cleanliness but the decor as well. It’s so cute and cozy! The entire property is welcoming and very well maintained. There is strong cell service on the property as well as fast wifi. Excellent customer service. We highly recommend booking time on the river with Clint through the lodge while you are here - his knowledge, expertise, kindness and passion for fishing will guarantee you a great day on the river!
Excellent experience, wonderful place. Our room had a DVD player and there was a large library of DVDs in the common area. The Pere Marquette river runs silently by the garden, tranquil and engrossing. What a gem.Rooms: 5/5
They are extremely helpful and accommodating people. The place is located conveniently to the river and canoe rental. Very clean and well maintained.
My experience with the Red Moose Lodge was fantastic from the first call, until checkout. The property owner was gracious, kind and made everything so easy! It was the perfect place to stay in Baldwin when fishing the Pere Marquette or visiting the area.Rooms: 4/5
Stayed here for a night. It's a very clean and well maintained place. There is an air conditioner, heat and tv inside . Bed is decent. They also had a bunch of DVD s to choose from. The property had river flowing beside it and a swing right in front of the river. You could sit and just watch the river flow. Very peaceful. Due to the pandemic they were not serving breakfast.
We stayed in the 72nd street house owned by the lodge. The owners were friendly but somewhat paranoid. When I booked I told them I would have 5-6 guests. My son had come ahead of us, and I wasn’t sure if he would be staying with us or not. The owner was very curious about this and almost made me feel like she thought I was trying to trick them somehow. The house was clean but had very few amenities. There was not WiFi and only two televisions. One of those televisions was so small it was barely usable. There is dish but it only worked in the living area. There are multiple signs through out telling you what you can and can’t do. We were not allowed to wear our shoes in the house past the kitchen. There was a sign in the kitchen telling us to wash all our dishes and put them up exactly where they were found. There were warnings on the towels and a price list of what you would be charged if you somehow damaged the towels. They did provide old rags to use for messy spills, but I was fairly terrified to even utilize the towels. There’s only one window unit but it cooled the house nicely. The beds were reasonably comfortable, and there were soaps and shampoos if needed. If you are interested in a cozy, clean place and you are not easily rattled by all of the rules and demands, this is a great place to stay. If we go through this way again, we might think twice about staying only because I am a highly conscientious person, and all of the rules and demands caused me stress. I found myself walking on eggshells shells and not able to relax.
We stayed at the Lodge for a family funeral, so we had three of the rooms. The rooms were all very clean. I had Room #2 which was very large and comfortable Everyone gathered in our room for visiting and it was perfect. My sisters were in Room #1. The room was okay but we didn't know that it was located down a flight of cement stairs. Since it was winter this would have been nice to know because we would not have put them down there. It was a little scary on the ice and snow. They also said because it was downstairs the floors were very cold, so extra rugs would have been nice The other room #4 we had was clean but pretty small. Best for just a couple or one adult and two small children. Overall it was a great place, especially for the Baldwin area. We would stay there again.
