Wow, what an amazing stay!! The owners, Tim & Trish were absolutely amazing from start to finish. We had a group of 10 of us and the site was big enough for all of us. We stayed at site 13, 'hideaway'. Beautiful trees surrounding the area and was overlooking the river. We will most definitely come back again! Thanks for having us and for being so hospitable
I first visited this site in 2006. Went several times a season till 2010. Took a 13 year break. Returned Sunday May 21. Just as wonderful as ever. New owners to me, Tim and Tricia are great. Very accommodating. And such serenity
Great place to camp away from the crowds! Great hosts and very friendly! Was shaded, which was good cause it was hot out. Just need a place to shower, but it's primitive, so it was fine. Would camp there again for sure.
Great primitive campground! Sites are spacious and vary from creekside to grassy. Lots of trees around perimeter. Outhouses are within walking distance from all sites. Ice and firewood are available for purchase. We enjoyed a clean, quiet stay and loved the fireworks for Independence Day. Hosts, Tim and wife were accommodating and super nice!
Great campground. We asked for a riverfront site and they gave us a gorgeous site right on the River. Sites a large and spaced out with a picnic table and fire ring. We didn’t explore the property as we only spent 1 night but what we saw was well maintained. The owners are great, they helped with car issues and offered hiking recommendations. I’d go back without hesitation next time we visit the gorge.
Had a great time, nice quiet campground.Close to the northern start of the daniel boone backcountry byway. This will probably be our go to spot when we come back to red river gorge.
I camped here for one night July 6th, 2022. I was headed west on my cross country trip, and wanted to take a stop near Slade Kentucky and found this place, we called ahead and the lady Tina on the phone was so sweet. We hit bad storms on the way there and kept in contact about our arrival time. We drove down the dirt road just to find right at the entrance of their property was a downed tree. So I got out of my van and walked up to the house to let them know. They were so sweet and offered us a ride down to the van, they cut the tree down for us and just like that we were in. We talked to them about the local area and life out there. Best thing was we had the whole 30 acres to ourselves that night with nothing but crickets chirping and WOW what a beautiful sunrise we had that morning. Cannot wait to go back someday!
This campground was perfect for a weekend getaway! Our site was right along Red River with a great view. There are plenty of areas to explore to keep kids entertained. We loved climbing the fallen tree down by the creek that leads to Red River. We splashed in the water and skipped rocks. My 6 year old son is already asking when we can go back! The owners were super friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning!
We have been here multiple times and every time its been a blast! Everyone is friendly and the lady's at the cabin that check you in are awesome! They sell wood for $10 a bundel and $20 a bundle which is way better there then in town. They have 3 ponds you can fish catch and release. A river you can swim in some spots are great for small children and shallow enough they can stand up in. I have a 5 and 7 year old . Its only 10 a night per person and 12 and under are free!! Highly recommended!
Mine and my friends favorite campsite at the Gorge, we’ve been going here for our camping trips for years! We were so sad when we heard the owner was selling and we hope it stays the same after it sells! They are so nice and affordable. Different sized campsites to accommodate your group size. They deliver wood to your campsite for a fee which is super nice when you run out.
