The Redwood Band program is made up of Beginning Band, Concert (Intermediate) Band, Advanced Band (Advanced Band 2), Symphonic (Advanced Band 1), Jazz Band and the combined Viking Marching Band.
Beginning Band is for students with no experience or less than one year of elementary band.
Concert Band is our intermediate group and is for students with more than one year of band exeperience or private lessons. Students who already play an instrument but want try a new instrument should still sign up for this class.
Symphonic Band- This is our advanced band and is intended for students with 2 years or more of experience. This class is only open to 7th and 8th graders.
Jazz Band- A weekly after-school program for students enrolled in the band program. It includes instruments not traditionally found in the concert classes such as electric guitar, electric bass, piano and drumset.
Viking Marching Band- In the springtime, our Beginning, Concert and Symphonic Bands combine to form the award winning Viking Marching Band. We perform in many Southern California parades as well as public venues such as Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm and Universal Studios. In competition, the Viking Band is undefeated for the last 8 years!
