I arrived after hours, so the office was closed, but there was no packet waiting for me like I was told there would be. I had to wander around for an hour until I found someone who could check me in and tell me what spot I was in. The water is probably unsafe, as a lot of other reviews have pointed out. There was a wasp nest in my power station, which I got stung by. There was an obnoxiously loud group singing around a campfire past midnight on Saturday, and nothing was done about it. For a $50/night stay where I had to provide my own housing, I expected more. Nice view at least. Edit: I also want to note that writing off the water as being “well water” is not good enough. I grew up on well water, and it isn’t anything like this. Water, whether from the city or from a private well, still needs proper filtration, and there’s a reason you’re required to have a sign posted about it’s current quality. Edit 2: Not sure where you got the idea that I left reviews for other businesses this morning. I leave both positive and negative reviews, and it’s been a while since my last. I was also originally told checkout was at 1. Interesting. You’ve brushed off everyone else’s concerns about the water, and don’t have an after hours number. I’m not sure where I could have brought my concerns to be heard.
We left our beautiful spot at Reeder RV, yesterday after spending nearly 3 weeks there and exploring the Oregon coast. It's such a beautuful place. Wild Blackberries and the biggest apples I've ever seen. We're already planning our next stay. Thanks to Bob and Jim. Gilbert and Lisa Mitchell Food & drinks: Friendly staff, fantastic sandwiches!
What a peaceful and beautiful getaway on Sauvie Island! Our 2nd time staying here and loved it even more because the river level was low enough to enjoy long and quiet strolls on the beach each day. It's not a huge RV park, which we like; lot sizes are ample; bathroom is clean; they're dog friendly; and we had such stunning views of the river that allowed us to enjoy the impressive cargo ships going by from time to time. The country store and little to go restaurant are a nice touch too. As for reservations, you do have to call, but we were able to make last minute reservations for the holiday weekend without any problems, and their staff are all very nice and accommodating. Thank you for sharing your park with us and looking forward to our next stay soon!
Really nice staff... great location and the people staying were quiet and kept to themselves. I have 5 kids and we all had a great time. I will be staying here again when we come back. The only issue is the showers and bathroom needs a little maintence but are fairly clean. I wish they had more access to the beach then just one set of stairs but I didnt take away any stars for it. I had a really positive experience!
I ordered the pulled pork bbq sandwich, which was good enough, but not nearly as flavorful as i'd like or expect. The price was a little high but not that bad for such a tourist area. Service was fine, nothing special. The location is fine if you happen to be on the island for something else, and have a car. Otherwise it's terrible. The atmosphere is about what you would expect from an old old country store. It seems like a converted barn or something but i was assured it was always a country store.
ARSENIC in the drinking water that exceeds EPA levels. The site was nice above the river and the campground was full, but quiet. We arrived after hours, picked up our packet, read through all of it, hooked up to our site water, filled our tank, and used our camper toilet. Upon leaving, my husband used the facility bathroom and read a posting that the potable water exceeds EPA standards of 10 ppb 15ppb. We questioned the manager owner? about that and thought it should have been posted at each water source so we could make that choice to use it or not. Instead of understanding our concern, he justified that he followed EPA rules by posting it at the office and restrooms only, and insisting that wine has arsenic, and so do wells, and he has been drinking it his whole life. We understand that things happen and that he might be working to get filters on there, but his dismissive attitude was what upset us. We thought the arsenic information should be posted at each hook up, and in our packets. We would have considered it decent to take our concern seriously, and above and beyond to offer a discount or information on where to dump our tank and get safe water, of which he did none. He only argued with us.
The little convenience store was exactly that, and more. The ladies behind the counter were especially helpful, and they make an amazing pulled pork sandwich. Truly delicious.Service: 5/5
This store is located on the route around the island. Has outside tables to take rest and eat while biking. People were very nice too.Rooms: 5/5

What's not to love? You're surrounded by beautiful scenery everyday, listening to the sounds of wildlife, and the freshest most delicious produce is minutes away. The whole island is a miniature Paradise and this RV Park allows you a private beach right on it. It's well run, friendly, and no matter where you park you'll get a view. We were parked in the back and had views of the most magnificent trees that I sketched almost every day. I also loved watching the big boats on the river. Idyllic.
