I’ve been trying to find walking/running shoes for a really long time. Ashleigh was super helpful and patient with me as we tried on different shoes based on the assessment we did to see what type of shoe would be best for me. I appreciated her attention to detail and Knowledge. I highly recommend going to Reno Running Company for any of your athletic shoe needs.
I have been to this location twice and unfortunately have had poor experiences both times. I will not be giving this company a penny of my money. The first time I came ready to purchase two pairs of shoes and was being helped by a pleasant gentleman without issue. I was brought two pairs of shoes and was told to wait until he returned to see how I liked them. I tried them on and waited about 20 minutes as I could see he was busy. However as more people entered the store, that same gentleman continued to add new clients, never coming back to check on me. Adding further insult to injury, one of his coworkers asked if he needed help since he seemed busy but he brushed them off and told them he could handle it. Another 20 minutes went by and I simply walked out of the store, having tried on two pairs of shoes in 40 minutes. Being busy is understandable, neglecting a client because “you can handle it” is not. Two days later, I went to a sister store of Reno running company I later found out it is owned by the same person and found a pair of shoes I wanted but they did not have it in my color. To my dismay, the only store which had it in that color was this same Reno running company. We called the store and decided to place this shoe on hold for me, getting phone confirmation it was “in store, set aside with my name on it” to pickup the following day. The next day, I came in to this location, and they had no idea what I was talking about. The shoe they had less than 16 hours before was nowhere to be found. I was then given the option to pay for this non-existent shoe and have it shipped to me “when it came in stock.” At this point, I left the store and do not plan on returning anytime soon. I hope they know treating customers like this is unacceptable, and I will be advising everyone I know to steer clear of this location.
Reno Running Company is a locally owned store which is why I went there. From the moment I walked in the door the staff were attentive and knowledgeable. They assessed my issues carefully, videoed my feet on a treadmill, and provided options for my specific needs. I highly recommend this company and I highly recommend Reno locals shop with Reno locals vs the big box stores or online.
Edit: Matthew from Reno Running Company reached out directly and helped me resolve this issue. He was understanding and the review has been adjusted accordingly. Previous review below: Does not honor their own return policy. We purchased a set of shoes, confirming with various associates during our visit that we could try them on at home, that we could return if they did not meet our expectations given restrictions of course. After returning to the store after having tried this under their guidelines, the shoes - which were worn for about a 1/4 mile on the treadmill - were deemed "too worn" and only qualified for a store credit. This is in distinct contrast to the vast help we received on our first visit and contradictory to what we were told multiple times.
What an amazing time I had at the Reno Running Company as I was interested in some new shoes. The staff on site listened carefully to my needs and showed me several types of shoes that fit my orthotics and walking comfort. The staff made the process quickly and was very helpful. Its been two weeks since I made the purchase and I' am very happy with the decision.
My husband and I bought a bunch of new shoes after muttering through with cheap shoes that didn’t provide support for long walks. The staff at Reno Running Co. were amazing! Sized us, fit my husband for arch support, let us walk in a bunch of different shoes, provided guidance and recommendations. We couldn’t be happier with our purchases and will definitely be back in the future!
I don't know the name of the guy who was helping me at the Reno location, but I thought he did an excellent job finding some shoes that work for me, within my budget! Would definitely go again. The gentleman who helped me knew about gait and what kind of shoes work for people's stride.
The best place to buy shoes. Ava was a true professional, helping my wife and I out, to find the right walking shoes. She did a gait and arch analysis. We went in looking for some guidance on shoes and each walked out with some new Hokas along with Currex insoles. Super nice, well-informed staff! My wife will be buying a second pair, different color, go figure, after the holidays.
My wife and I are well into our 60's. Not the best or easiest feet to fit. They provided very thoughtful recommendations based on our needs. We left with 3 pairs of shoes between us. We'll be back!
I had some pretty complicated Achilles surgery this summer. Most recently, I needed to find shoes that would offset heel pain but also accommodate the constant swelling. Tim went above and beyond with a gait analysis to identify the best shoe for my current needs. He then worked to get my fit right given unique circumstances between surgical / non surgical side. Really appreciate everything.
