The furniture is not very good quality. I bought a living room suit outright and in 4 days it broke, of course no replacement. I've got currently 3 bedroom sets, washer, dryer and TV from them. One bedroom suit is falling apart something aweful. They are made very cheap and not worth the price. If you call to speak with management, he's always gone, busy or will return your call which never happens. I'm not very happy with the quality of the products or the fact that I had to trash my living room set because it broke so soon. I'm not sure I'll be a returning customer once my current items are paid for. I may look into a different place for a replacement living room suit
I rented a computer to do homework online and it suddenly shut off and won't come back on. I called to get a loaner while it was being repaired and the guy was on vacation. There was nothing they could do. I'm not understanding why another person couldn't give me a loaner and take my laptop to be repaired. So my homework was late and it affected my grades and I went to Aaron's and got the same computer 20 dollars cheaper per month.
It was great, everything went smoothly no accidentals or hiccups. The entire process was amazing
I have set up delivery on my item twice now and every time the day and time comes up that it's supposed to be delivered I get a message saying I need to schedule it again!!!
Still happy staff are always friendly and understanding
I love being able to purchase quality items from rent a center!
Very understanding guys. Very respectful. Good prices.
What does it feel like to sell your soul? Years ago, I worked at a Rent -a-center Our primary market were people with low income, bad credit or no credit to buy furniture, appliances and electronics. Every day, I was calling to remind customers of upcoming or late payments. Weekly, we were doing repos of furniture and appliances including fridges, stoves, couches, beds, children’s beds, TV’s etc. Then a month later we had to call these same customers and market more products to them that they couldn’t afford. Sway them with with low payments, not dwelling on the term length, interest and grand total at end of term when they FINALLY they own it. Many didn’t know they were paying ridiculous $ for used or cheap furniture that again they couldn’t afford it. Every single day for the 8 months I worked there, I sat in my car before work and cried. I cried on my way home. I felt like what I was doing was highway robbery. Taking advantage of people low income. This didn’t affect credit ratings good or bad. I was completely miserable and felt terrible for the customers, some of whom I knew, went to school with etc. I felt like I had sold my soul for a paycheque. When I quit, I was offered a position in their money lending branch. I was appalled as I had just given the reasons above for quitting. The day after I quit, I felt as though I could breathe again. The claw that clenched my insides was gone. I figure that’s when whomever I sold my soul to, returned it. The store is completely full of roaches and seems to be completely mismanaged. Their manager might be the most unprofessional person I’ve ever met in my life. I’d give this place zero stars if I could. I feel bad for the associates underneath him. They’d be a much more successful if the ownership went with new management.
Ok so i rode here with my nephew to pick up his new mattress & bed frame, right? It was surreal: we walked up to the counter, talked to the employee, he showed us the "showroom model" then told us about a cheaper option- were we interested? When we said yes, he locked the front door, took us out through the back warehouse area, out the back door, across the parking lot to an old metal shipping container where he had to remove several padlocks to show us this bed! I kept making jokes about buying plutonium from the Russian mafia fronting as a rent-to-own store...he kept not laughing at them. But it was a good deal- a deal we couldn't refuse maybe- so we took it...but it FEELS like we bought it illegally from the black market. P.S.: we left it in the truck under a tarp- we're gonna sneak it in through the back after dark...just to be sure
