I’m here about every other week for work, so I have spent a ~lot~ of time at this hotel. I was initially staying at the Hampton Inn next door but am very glad I switched. - Every single staff member I’ve interacted with has been friendly and accommodating. And I mean every single one: the manager, front desk staff, sales manager, kitchen manager brought me a splash of milk for my coffee once when I caught her after they’d cleared the breakfast stuff away, and cleaning crew. - Free continental breakfast is decent with some variety from week to week which I really appreciate. - For being right next to a highway, it’s incredibly quiet. As I write this I am in a room facing the highway and can’t hear a thing but the refrigerator running. - There’s a little outdoor space with a pool that’s good for a change of scenery. - All the gym equipment works. - The rooms are clean and in my opinion fine for the price point. Some things are a bit worn down, think things like a couple outlets that don’t work, lumpy pillows, etc. One gripe I do have with every Residence Inn I’ve ever stayed in is the lack of consistency with kitchen supplies. One room will have a giant pan and no pots, another room will have a tiny pot and no pans. Sometimes you get a cutting board, sometimes you don’t. Ensuring every room had at least one of every essential item would make things easier for travelers who are staying long enough to use the kitchen but not long enough to fully stock it. Note that this hotel would not be a good choice if you were traveling for pleasure and wanted to be close to…anything really. The location is perfect if you’re working nearby, otherwise you’re basically just on a concrete island fenced in by highway on all sides. Well, if you’re working nearby you’re still on a concrete island fenced in by highway on all sides, but at least you can get to the office in 5 minutes.
Our ac broke and we needed somewhere to go until it was fixed. I have a large family and the room was amazing comfortable and roomy enough for all of us. The staff was beyond amazing and worked with us on everything, they were beyond amazing and helped us in a time we needed. Thank you so much to the staff that worked 9/28 amd 9/29, we are truly greatful.
Room was clean. Door access cards always worked. Bold coffee is excellent in the mornings. Swimming pool is a good size. Food & drinks: Starbucks close by
Very nice staff, very helpful. Not their fault that the place is getting run down and neglected. The room was clean-ish. Exhaust fan in bathroom has not been cleaned in years. Curtains were torn and mattress a little too soft. AC unit is noisy but otherwise room was quiet. There was a strong urine odor when I first got off the elevator on my floor the first night. 2nd night very strong cigar smoke permeated the entire floor. Very uncomfortable. Pool deck area covered in black mold. I would not recommend bare feet. I may add more comments since I have 2 more nights to go. Nearby activities: A couple of gas stations and fast food across the interstate, but not much else. 3 or 4 miles to anything worth going to. Food & drinks: No restaurant or bar in the hotel. Cookies sometimes and a snack rack. Breakfast wasn't too bad.
Good friendly staff. Average breakfast. Good location - close to airport. Room is ok however bathroom needs upgrade. Good value. Road construction is not helping as it takes longer to access this hotel. Some rooms are very small such as in this pic so if you have more than one guest, ask for bigger room.
This is my go to hotel when I come back home! I'm from here but have been living in OK and trying to move back but just haven't found a place not worth all my arms and legs lol I love this hotel bc it feels like a little apartment when I visit. It's right by the old neighborhood in Roanoke I had a house for 9 years and I miss this place so much! Love the hotel, it's always clean and you have everything you need. Kitchen, plates, utensils, toaster, coffee machine, mic, dishwasher, etc. Sofa sleeper. One bedroom studio, one bedroom with an actual room that has doors and 2 bedrooms are available.
I'm giving this a worse review than last year because it earned it. We enjoyed staying here last year. Rooms were clean, fresh towels, all the right stuff. This year the rooms were dirty,we had 4 rooms between us. Other guests complained about their rooms also. Breakfast was subpar, at best, and thats being gracious. If you wanted milk for your cereal or cream cheese for your bagel, or a soft biscuit, you may rate it lower than I did.
Stopped by for a quick 1 night stay and got upgraded to a two bed suite! Sweat!!! Staff was very friendly and the place was nice and clean. Just missing the coffee maker in the room. Oh well. The place currently has massive freeway construction going on so getting around the area is a bit of a mess. Else good place.Rooms: 5/5
After a long day on the road it is nice to be greeted by a friendly face. Juanita and Sydney greeted me like family. One of the nicest check ins I've had in a long time. The room they set me up in is great. Very clean and the bed is very comfortable. I highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a place!
Nice but not perfect stay. I'm currently in the middle of our 2nd stay at this hotel. Although there have been some problems, overall the stays have been positive and the staff at the front desk have been extremely friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to help us to have a good stay. The pros include a nice large room 1 bedroom suite with a full kitchen. A nice work desk. Plenty of power outlets on the desk and on the nightstands. Sufficient towels in the bathrooms without having to go down to the front desk to ask for more. The water pressure was good and the water got hot in the shower. The typical old-style breakfast with waffles, eggs, etc was appreciated. I didn't like the breakfasts with more limited options and no waffles that were introduced during COVID. There seemed to be plenty of parking and for the most part, the hotel was quiet, other than traffic and the airport, but that was to be expected with the location. The biggest negative was when I booked three reservations at one time, one of the reservations was pay-in-advance and they posted all 3 charges ahead of time to my credit card. After a call to the titanium elite line, 1 reservation was refunded. After a call to the hotel, the other reservation was refunded. Other negatives included an out-of-order elevator both weeks, one dryer marked out of order and the other didn't dry our clothes, but we were still out of the money we had to load to the app to use the dryer and then we had to pay again at a laundromat to finish drying our clothes. Also, the clock on the nightstand in our first room only blinked and there was no way to correct the time. Our second room didn't even have an alarm clock.
