Friendly waiters, excellent food ! We took Angus hamburger, tasting great but also expensive, maybe normal because of the location or because everything get expensive . But recommend it. I will be back.
I arrived with a group for a table booked in advance. The waiter said that despite the menu has multiple options the entire group must choose only 2 options for everyone. Extremely long waiting times. Had to wait 30 min after we ordered our drinks. Almost An hour for a simple salade and a burger. Burger was covered with a nice black charkcoil curst, ideal to give you cancer. The main waiter realised that things were messed up. He was as helpful as he could be, but the management needs to rightsize the staff and train them. We probably were looking so depressed, that they offered us a substantial reduction of the bill. Which was nice of them. I feel ashamed that so many foreign tourist would get the impression that this amateuristic service would be representative of Belgian work ethos. It's not really a budget brasserie pricewise, so food and service need to match!
Absolutely horrible service. Had to wait 2 hours AFTER ordering to be able to get a low quality burger. Absolutely do not recommend.Food: 1/5
Summary:The waiter lied to us... Whole story: We ordered a crep for 6 euros and they came back and told us they didn't have any so they offered us waffles. We asked if it would cost most but our waiter said that it would only cost 6 euros for ussame as the crep. My friend asked for a waffle with chocolate and ice cream and was given just a waffle without a chocolate and ice cream. Later our waiter came up to us with the ice cream saying sorry but walked away with the ice cream without giving us the ice cream itself which we had asked for for. Then the bill said 8 euros when though the waiter said that it would cost us the same as the crep6 euros
Sat down for 10 mins at a table waiting to order before we were told « this is not a table » which was very interesting. Glad they did not take our money. When a tavern operates at such an important international tourist landmark there is some sort of responsibility in the local image and in providing good food and service. The Waterloo municipality / tourist office should definitely keep an eye on standards here as it does not reflect well on the image of the lion site.
Very poor service. We waited an hour for food and then they forgot two of our orders. It then turned out the Pokebowl was no longer available and we had to get a salad instead. The manager was very rude. He didn't offer any apology for this. We also had to wait half an hour for tea and coffee then and they only brought it after we reminded them. The burger was good, to be fair, but not worth the very long wait.
The food and the waiter was very good. but the shop ordering system really make the whole dining experience very bad. It confuse all of us.
There were just 3 tables full and we had to wait for our order to arrive 45 min anyway
