My husband and I joined Fleming Retro almost 3 years ago - just looking for a reasonably priced gym that offered a variety of classes and equipment. We had been members of but the local YMCA and Achieve Fitness and were less than impressed with either. We are both regulars at Fleming Retro, taking multiple classes every week and have gotten to know most of the trainers - who are great. Very knowledgeable and always willing to help with troubled areas. The staff keep the gym in great order and keeps us informed of changes or issues that effect operation of the gym.
Great gym, super staff, really clean. The kid care was awesome, but absolutely terrible ownership/management. I had a membership here for a few months and literally they just closed down without even notifying the customers. They never said a word. I'm at the gym and then the next day it's just out of business?? Back to searching for a good gym.
Having gone through several different gyms over the years, Retro Fitness has been demonstrably, hands down better than all of the others. The facility and equipment are always in great shape, the classes offered fit my needs and schedule and all the fitness trainers are concerned about each and every member. Have recommended Retro to all of our friends as a place to not only get started, but to continue to challenge themselves. KEEP IT UP!
Retro gym in Fleming island couldn’t be any better. The staff couldn’t be more amazing. The manager Sam is always friendly and keeping the place looking great. The coaching staff is extremely supportive and I just competed at my first physique show thanks to Trish Goldstein. Also wanted to say a special thanks to all the child care staff for taking care of my kids while I train. Love you all at retro!
Huge scam of a gym. I have emailed three times the past two months and called numerous times. Not a single respond to any of emails and only one answered telephone call. During that call two months ago I was assured my membership was cancelled but have still received withdraws from my account. Calling and emailing still no response. Telephone number is “no longer in use.”
They used to have a really great kids fitness program which offered about five different classes for kids, including karate, for an amazing price. They got rid of the program after the karate instructor left. Wish they would bring it back . Staff is always nice.
This place is the highlight of my week! I have never seen a staff work so well together and enjoy each other so much! As a member when i see that, i want to be there and apart of the atmosphere ! I look forward to my morning workouts as well as seeing other members and the staff! It is family oriented and a positive environment that will make your week great!
I have never left a review for a business before but I am making an exception for this one. The staff are quite unfriendly. I signed up for a free pass online to try out the gym and upon arriving, was practically verbally assaulted by Dalton and told that, "I have been seen here before with my mom". It's quite comical because my mom lives in SE Asia. Likely, I was mistaken for another person or the guy is really racist. I'm not sure what can be said about this interaction other than hate and hostility.
This place needs to be managed better. I inquired 3 times about kids karate class. They came to our school to promote their new business. Twice I called the front desk who had no idea what I was asking. We’ll call You back they said ... they never did . I decided to go in person and they told me the same thing , we don’t know , we’ll call you back. What a lack of professionalism ... bad management right there ... I will never go back there , not even for my gym membership.
This place is always very clean and uplifting. The staff are there ready to help you and the workout machines/ materials are numerous. The pricing is comperable to other similar gyms. Like all places, it can get busy at peak times. If your a cardio enthusiasts try the machines located in the movie theater room.
