Seemed nice enough, small town feel, only thing was they don't sell their floor models, so it can take quite a while to get your appliances. I needed mine right away, so I went with another company. The prices and service seemed decent though
Walked in to purchase a washer. I said I needed to buy one today, but when looking, the kid said they won’t break up sets. I said I needed to go somewhere where they would sell me one today. He told me to have a nice day. He said they could make more money by selling a set. We ended up calling back and the owner invited us back to buy. We got the deal done!
Sears is an absolute joke for a company. We bought a Kenmore Elite fridge 3 years ago from them. When it quite cooling I called sears multiple times but the response was that their were no technicians available. When I would ask how that could be they had no answer. I even got hung up on once. Finally I had another repair company out and they replaced the condenser which was still on warranty. Sears refused to cover it because it was not a Sears certified technician that replaced it even thought they had told me they had no technicians available. Please don't buy from Sears for your own good. Just so everyone knows I emailed Justin based on his response below and he never got back to me. Quality customer service at its best.
I really wish I could continue to give my business to this store as it is locally owned and operated but they have been so unhelpful lately. They do not honor warranties, have weak customer service, and appear that they are only out to make money instead of keep customers. They made it easy on us to take what business we would have given them elsewhere. Purchase from them at your own risk, but be prepared to be disappointed if you ever have to handle a warranty or any customer service related matter with them after the initial sale.
I was very pleased with the service that was given when I bought our new fridge. I wasn't completely sure what I wanted and they showed me a few models and explained why some would be better for my needs. We will be back when it is time to buy another appliance.
This is a separate review from the last one. We bought a refrigerator from Sears and after two months it went out. We had it replaced, and two months later, this refrigerator went out as well! Sears has terrible quality products, terrible management, and terrible customer services. We were even lied to. The first time that our refrigerator went out, we asked for a refund and were told that it would take up to 60-90 days to get the check. We now know this was just an attempt to get us to stay. However, miraculously, when I demanded our money back and that 60-90 days wasn't going to cut it, we got a check back two days later. When I posted a review of my experience and my dissatisfaction with Sears the first time, I was contacted by the district manager. I was happy to hear that they pay attention to their reviews. Even though he claimed to be contacting me to help me, I didn't get that impression at all. It was just a formality to cover their own business. Like I said, the management here is terrible. Some additional education in business management would go a long way. We took our business to Bingham and Sons on Main St. in Rexburg and they sold us a better quality refrigerator with more storage space for almost $200 cheaper and rather than waiting two months for a replacement, Binghams and Sons had it there two days later. STAY AWAY FROM SEARS!!! I know I will. I am even contemplating turning them in to the Better Business Bureau.
We have been shopping at Sears since the store was built in Rexburg. The owners of the store are not only top notch but are outstanding and generous citizens of the community. I read two reviews on here from a Mr. Downs. I completely understand his frustration. He forgot to mention that the fridge that broke down is not even his and he's not the one that purchased it. I sent him a message and asked him about it and all he did was blocked me. But instead of speaking to that I would like to share my experience with Sears. Several years ago my wife and I found ourselves in a financial situation that was less than desirable. We weren't in a position where we could replace a washing machine that broke down. Yes, we bought it originally from Sears and it lasted us many years but as with all appliances sometimes they break. We went into the Sears store in Rexburg and tried to find a solution to our problem. The owner of the store purchased a new washing machine on his own account and allowed us to pay him back over the course of about 9 months. They have been helpful and gracious to our family and to the needs of many other people. When I read a complaint about somebody saying that the owners took their time and gave them their own personal replacement fridge until the problem could be solved I am not surprised. But when they try to add a little dig that it was filthy and it smelled like beer, I know that just simply is not true. If a person has a complaint at least tell the truth. I have purchased from both places that sell appliances in Rexburg. Both are great businesses. The owner of Sears has gone above and beyond and we recommend them to anyone.
Bought a mower from them 3 weeks ago, it always smelled like gas really strong. Then I saw that it was leaking gas from a puncture on tank. So I called the he told me to bring it in, I bring it in and don’t stand behind it because I didn’t have receipt even though I used sears card to purchase. Never again!
Thank you, thank you, thank you. So grateful for the very responsive, courteous, a truly caring nature of this locally owned business. We have always loved how helpful Sears is and today was above and beyond what we have come to value. Thank you to all who helped us with our new dishwasher and the installation. My husband and I will return for future needs.
Need a new appliance refrigerator, dishwasher, washer, dryer, etc.? SEARS IS NOT THE STORE YOU WANT TO SHOP AT. All they do is take your money and run. We purchased a refrigerator and it broke down two months later. After contacting the store about the issue, it took TWO MONTHS before any repair or replacement could happen. The owner of the store just kept blaming customer service and saying that her store was doing everything they could. Basically, they just told us what we wanted to hear. We were given a replacement refrigerator a while after we had initially called for help, but it is filthy and, after we plugged it in, it smelled like beer. When we found out that it would be a month until we could have a serviceman come out, I asked to be placed on a list that would allow me a sooner servicing date if one came up, I was told that I was on the list but later found out from the serviceman that this was not true. He told me that he had been told to stay home on several different days weeks before I was scheduled for a repair. The repairman was a great guy and really knew his stuff, but Sears had provided him with a truck that had no replacement parts. So, all that he could do was tell me what the problem was and then reschedule me an appointment two weeks later. I don't blame the serviceman, he was excellent. Overall, Sears is just a money grab company. They know they are barely keeping their heads above water and they are fighting hard to get any kind of income they possibly can. They display signs that say they are #1 in Customer Care, but they aren't. If something goes wrong, they just sit around and blame other departments rather than taking charge, owning up to their mistakes, and actually providing help. AVOID SEARS COMPLETELY. Bingham and Sons, on Main St. in Rexburg is a MUCH better store to go to for appliances. When I have gone to them, they offered lower prices, better benefits with their products, and promise quick servicing if needed. They are an honest company, unlike Sears.
