The Richard J. Daley Center serves as office space for the City of Chicago and Cook County and is home to the renowned Daley Plaza and Picasso statue.

Description

Originally known as the Chicago Civic Center, the Richard J. Daley Center was designed by architect
Jacques Brownson of C.F. Murphy Associates and is located in the heart of the Chicago Loop. The
building includes 31 floors, more than 120 court and hearing rooms, the Cook County Law Library, and
office space for the City of Chicago and Cook County. The building’s plaza, known as Daley Plaza,
features approximately 88,000 square feet of space, as well as the famed Picasso statue, designed by
world renowned artist, Pablo Picasso. Richard J. Daley Center was designated as a Chicago Landmark in
2002 and is LEED Certified Gold.

This place is great as an outdoor event for public use; smack dab in the heart of downtown. There's also the Picasso and the pop culture aspect from TV and movies. After a recent event I looked to the side and asked the nearby Security if the building across the street was used during the end of the movie The Blues Brothers when The Bluesmobile died it was. Worth visiting!
Well known and high trafficked area. Events and seasonal farmer's market. Hopefully, you don't have to go to court, like I did. But they do have a law library, and some good views, once you've passed security.
The Richard J. Daley Center is a must when you decide to visit Chicago, Illinois. The water feature and iconic sculpture outside are a true tourist attraction. The are stone benches shaded by trees that line that courtyard but the real fun is by the water fountain. You can zone out with the sounds of splashing water and smell of fresh vapors from the flowing water towers in the cool breeze. If feeding birds is your thing, this spot has of flock of pigeons that will swarm you for a tasty treat. In addition, it was fun watching the pigeons bathe in the water fountain. Holy tent city this is one of the greatest cities on earths civic centers and it looks like a zombie apocalypse..... giving drug addicts needles and crack pipe kits does not help , you all should be ashamed of yourselves for doing this!
They have wrong hours . Website says they open at 8 I’m calling 20 mins pass it’s still saying closed . The judges that work down here are very one sided . It’s sad because it’s always the black judges that gives you hard times . I’m so over the Dailey Center .!!! Someone needs the clean it up . They are supposed to help the citizens yet they keep them in the system , down and bad .!!!!
The Market is a fun and exciting place to visit during the Christmas season. There are ornaments, crafts, food and drinks. The German wine served in souvenir cups is the best! It is in a beautiful and festive setting. It surrounds the Picasso sculpture.
The Judge Amee Elizabeth Alonso in Probate is the worst! I petitioned the courts to discharge my guardianship, I told this non caring, non professional judge, that the teen threatened to slap me in FRONT of the police, and all she said was contact DCFS which they were of no help, she rushed, set my court date 2 months away. What if I am harmed by this 15 year old? This judge lacks empathy and compassion. Us Guardians has NO rights. This system does not protect the Guardians. I cannot wait to get this over with, so I will never have to deal with this judge again. NO ONE CARES about the Guardians who sometimes give up their livelihood to care for these children. There is NO HELP!
Great place to visit and enjoy a proper Chicago local environment. I love it!
Visiting Chicago for Holiday shopping and made a stop at the Christkindlmarket at Daley Plaza. You've got to do this and you must get a Hot Chocolate in the Boot Mug for a keepsake! Such a special trip and this pop up market is so joyful and sweet. You'll thank me for suggesting you visit! A wee bit crowded but the lines do move along quickly and everyone is in such good spirits!
This is a Hotbed of Legal , Political , Financial , Social and Newsworthy Sources ! I went down to address a legal issue . Upon arrival while checking in , I was told I wasn't even on the Docket . Arousing suspicion : 1 Is this a joke it's not April 1st 2 Is this a set-up not a big fan of conspiracy's 3 Is this going to end up with , me being incarcerated I'm 64 years young and I've had enough " walk - abouts " in the pokey 4 Is this going to mean I'm getting off that never happens to me - I got busted trying to snatch a stick of gum off the register of the corner gas station at 8-years old H _ _ l No Okay , I was told to go downstairs and check the files . After an uncomfortable I needed to relieve myself and the number of Clients vs. City Employees was Disproportionate say 40-minutes . Told my recent Moving Violations were Dismissed . What ! Not so fast , I still have several thousand dollars worth of Parking Fines . The cause and effect of Drug Addiction and not being Empathetic to any Rules or Regulations Laws . Now , I was directed to Room # 107 accross the street City Hall . And take the issue , with the ladies collecting fines and setting payment plans . A quick side note . Since the aforementioned moving violations were accrued , I'd been reducing my lien substantially . All the ladies 3 I have been dealing with had been extremely helpfull and very kind . Now , all we did was tally the numbers and sorted out a new timeline on my payment schedule . In reflection , it was a great day at the Daly Center ! I always enjoy visiting the Heart Of The City . Even though the reason having such an incredible jaundiced overtone based on fear & past resentments . Hey everyone don't ever forget , life is such a Beach . Clean and Sober , Spiritually Fullfilled and Living a Life of Service ! Amen , Brothers & Sister's . . .
