Fantastic library. I've been visiting it daily. It's just amazing. Good book collection and all the latest facilities available here. Printing stations available. Good seating arrangements available here. Probably the best place to study.
Very modern facility. Went there for a student presentation. There are fast foot restaurants located inside. There are escalators up to the third floor.
Clean bathrooms, comfy, cozy and the AC/Heat are always working year round at the temperature they should be. Idea Commons is my favorite place on campus to come and study. The staff are always ready to help you. Downside is not being able to eat in a section of the Idea Commons where there are empty vending machines, but I get it. If there is a spill or something, it will just be left for the cleaning staff. They are here to keep the property tidy, not to clean up after grown adults' carelessness. :D
Dingy and packed, but to be expected for UIC. Good hours - staff is helpful and you can count on checking out a book with no difficulties. Wifi is restricted for guests - register online through the "self-service" signup if you need to borrow their internet.
Used to be open to the public, however this has not been the case since the pandemic. Looking forward to someday when the public can return, as is the case with the student centers.
Plenty of spaced out seating despite COVID guidelines. Come social distance and study :
I find peace in library. Its a good place to meet up with friends and work on projects together. You can also book conference room. Also the restaurants are close by if you want to grab something to eat while studying.
I was having my coffee in here and the security guy came to tell me to put the mask on even though I was spaced out from everyone else. They make us check in and you have to be vaccinated to come in there so idk why is it a big deal to drink my coffee far from everyone else.
Noisy on the second and third floor. Nice quiet spaces on the fourth floor, and in the reading circle at level one east. Friendly staff, plenty of desks and cubicles for working.
4 stories building. Has rooms designed for different purposes like, silent study, group discussion, presentation etc. Books check out and small cafe is also inside there. Printing, scanning facilities and computer room is also there. Huge place to sit and study.
