Sweet little library with even sweeter librarians. They are so wonderfully helpful with lots of great suggestions if you’re stuck on what to borrow. Plenty of computers. Printing stations. Easy returns. Nice park outside for the kids 2 for 1! Park & library in one shot Parking is often tight during busy hours. Clean bathrooms with water fountains. We often borrow books online and simply pick them up from the library if not available. I just wish they were open on Sundays!
Richmond Beach Library is a great little library that is sitting right next to an awesome park, so it’s a great place to study and take a walk and enjoy the beautiful views of the Richmond Beach neighborhood area. I’ve come here quite often and I am grateful that it is a public resource. There aren’t a lot of books in print on the shelves but there are enough tables and chairs and computer resources here to make it a valuable asset to the community. There is also a great big meeting space where groups can gather for free. The library is clean and organized, the only slight drawback is that it’s not very quiet inside sometimes when there are a lot of kids or teenagers talking about homework or being tutored, people talk out loud openly within the library. But that’s something easy to tune out if you have some headphones. Highly recommended
Very courteous library staff. For those whom might take public transportation the Metro bus 348 stops a half block away either direction. This library is full service and is open on Mondays when most others are not. One suggestion, take the kids one afternoon and enjoy a special program they sometimes offer then head to Richmond Park , terrific views of the sound. The libraries garden landscape is great for photographs to make memories. YES, this is a good tourist attraction area. Shoreline is beautiful!
I usually love coming to this branch, even though I live in a totally different part of the county. What I like about it is that the patrons are generally quiet and the library is always clean. Unfortunately, the staff seem to think it's fine to use outdoor voices. I came in today and sat at the opposite end of the library from the circulation desk, and yet I can hear the person doing checkout and signing people up for library cards because she is using an unnecessarily loud volume. There seem to be quite a few people on staff for such a small branch, and most of them are quiet. But as with anything, it only takes one bad actor to ruin it for everyone. And yes, it's one thing if you are talking to someone who is hard of hearing, but most of us aren't, and we hear you shouting.
Library and park. Usually both are not too busy. This is apart of the king county library system that's closed on Sunday and Monday. The park is not covered. Computers in the library. Sometimes the library has events in the conference room near the entrance. Public bathrooms. Also events are posted here. Pre pandemic there was a piano at the entrance. Maybe one day it will find its way back. Also fountains outside the library.
Though this library has fewer books than most due to lack of floor space, over half are children's books. With a wonderful park and children's playground right out the door, this is most appropriate. For so many of us, the most welcoming aspect of this library are the librarians/staff, so much so that the local residents bucked the King Country Library system in order to keep their own librarians. These women are the most helpful, very knowledgeable about books AND the many computers, and role models for many of the kids who say they want to become librarians JUST LIKE....one of names of our librarians. This is Richmond Beach's own special book haven in a park.
A very nice library which I have visited hundreds of times over the years. Ordering material online is a breeze and the location is both convenient and very nice, with corner stores up the hill and Richmond Beach just a short walk away. Staff are friendly and helpful and the material on-hand is usually pretty good too, from movies to music to books. There are plenty of computers available for public use and a nice children's section, as well as conference/study rooms. Also, the drinking fountains have ice-cold water, which I love!
I spent much of my childhood in this library, first in its former location closer to the beach down to hill then in its current location in Richmond Beach Community Park. The staff, the item selection, the free use of computers, the book sale at the front entrance, and the comfortable and inviting interior of the building, all of these aspects make Richmond Beach Library awesome.
We absolutely love the story walk that is currently set up in the park adjacent to the library. We read it almost every day. Although my child never seems to get tired of the story, we hope that there will be another book in the future. Thank you for bringing this to our park!
Nice good library for internet usage and or for reading a book. Nice park area next to the library.
