Richmond County Bank Ballpark (Staten Island Railway station)

Description

Richmond County Bank Ballpark is an abandoned station on the Staten Island Railway, located at Wall Street and Richmond Terrace.HistoryThe station was opened on June 24, 2001 in conjunction with the Staten Island Yankees baseball season, serving the team's Richmond County Bank Ballpark on game days only. It was the newest station on the railway, until the opening of Arthur Kill station on January 21, 2017. This station was only operational during the baseball season, which usually runs from June to September. One train was scheduled to travel to/from Tottenville, with two or three shuttle trains from St. George serving the station.Due to a budget crisis for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, this station was closed on June 18, 2010, the date of the first scheduled home game of the season. As a result, a short walk from Saint George, or traveling on the S40 or S44 buses, is required to reach the stadium. Trains last served the station in September 2009.Station layoutThe station is located underneath the stadium below the northern sidewalk of Richmond Terrace between Wall Street and Hamilton Avenue. It is about 150yd west of Saint George Terminal along what used to be the North Shore Branch Line, which is not considered part of the main line of the railway. It consists of an island platform, with a double wide staircase to Wall Street at the east end and ADA elevator to Hamilton Avenue at the west end.

Had a nice time over here. It’s clean. View is really nice and breezy since we were right next to the water. Stadium is on the smaller side but that just makes most seat pretty good. Concession stands has a good amount of choices. Prices for each ticket was pretty cheap also. Got to watch fireworks after the game, too.
Visited the stadium yesterday for a game and we had a great time. Great view of the NYC skyline, solid food and drink selection, the staff is extremely helpful and friendly, overall it was and all around great experience. My nephews really had a great time and are already wanting to go back for the Power Ranger event next Sunday. Keep up the good work, I love having and attending fun things in my hometown and this is one of them.
Nice place to get fresh air & walk around...and watch baseball. May 11, 2022 Scoreboard did not show balls & strikes. $15 for a ticket...Ferry Hawks don't care if not many people attend..they love to play even if noone is watching. Bring a jacket--It gets cooler at night because it's near the water. No comment on concessions. Just go & get fresh air & exercise. Walk up & down the steps.
Loved the Journey to the East Lantern Festival Show! Beautiful Lantern shaped into Asian Mythology creations! Jumping Jaime was awesome with his magic, music show our 8 year old had a blast!!
I went to my 1st game with my wife on Memorial Day weekend. I recommend coming to a game for many reasons now! 1. The kids will love it. Especially running the bases when the game is done. It could be one of the most entertaining things. 2. Food is better now and the staff is new and friendly. 3. This is really a great place to sit and enjoy the best view of the city while having a beer and enjoying the cool breeze. Sure it's a new team, but it's in a much more competitive league. A woman also plays for them as well, Kristie Wentworth, and the kids LOVE seeing that. Personally I like the logo a lot more than I did so I bought a jersey and it wasn't too expensive. This is a great thing to come check out if you're on your way home from work or if you got a free night coming down to the ballpark and check it out.
Went for the journey to the east illuminated walk thru exhibit which runs from October to January. Paid $30 per adult children under 3 are free. The exhibit it's self was pretty cool which took less than an hour to walk through. Found street parking about .5 miles away on a side street by post office. The whole exhibit was about Chinese mythology along with a one man band who also did magic shows. Recommend for all ages. Exhibit was set up on the baseball field of ferryhawls Staten Island university. Wheelchair and stroller friendly. Not overly crowded
Had an amazing time at the Winter Lantern Festival. Originally at Snug Harbor, they moved their 2022 event in Staten Island to SIUH Community Park Ferry Hawks Stadium. All the lanterns were beautiful. Considering these lanterns and displays were handmade, this is top notch artistic display. Be sure to go before they're over in mid January 2023
Underrated Ballpark, right off the Staten Island Ferry. Great views of the harbor. Good for families. Food choices are limited. Majority of seats are Open air, not covered, so rain delays at Ferryhawks games can occur.
Home of the SI Ferryhawks. The stadium has underwent a field renovation switching to turf. Since the failure of the “wheel project.” , parking here can be a real doozy. Best bet is to park in the Outlets lot. Do not attempt to park by 9/11 memorial, sketchy people there cursing at themselves. Baseball is back —Support the ‘hawks !
Located near the Staten Ferry and short 30 boat ride from the city, this ballpark boasts a spectacular view of Manhattan and is a great place to take in the scenery from one of its five bouroughs.
