Had some friends come and meet us for Halloween haunt and we decided to stay here and get the full experience! We had a great time tent camping. Love that they provide a nice big fire pit with an optional grate for cooking. The shuttle to the park was super convenient when we were having car troubles, and the tent sites are pretty well kept up. We felt very safe despite it being crazy busy. Definitely will be back!
Nice campground immediately adjacent to King's Dominion. They run a shuttle every half hour if you don't want to drive. It'd be nicer if the pool had longer hours only open 10a-8p. And if you're a cashless facility, you really should have a working card reader for the laundry facilities. We couldn't do any laundry which was a bit of a hamper on our plans. But all in all, very nice. Staff were super friendly, pool was big and clean, and the playground was fun.
We loved it! Clean, cute little cabin but enough room and each room had its own TV! just 5 minutes from KD and 2 minutes from 7-11 for little shopping! Very convenient. There is a nice swimming pool and playground we did not use but we will definitely come back. Highly recommendRooms: 5/5
We stayed at a water and electric only site for four nights. It was a holiday weekend, so the park had a lot of guests and some were rambunctious but none over the top or during quiet hours. We could hear Kings Dominion rides and rider screams. We were very grateful for Mr. Taylor and his shuttle to the amusement park, which saved us $30-40. KOA does offer discounted park tickets, but if you're Military we found the better deal was found through the park's app. We travel with a small trailer that we weren't allowed to keep on our site, but they did let us park it nearby so that was nice.
We had an overall wonderful experience. Good cabin. Stayed a week. Seamless ordering, check in, and check out. Housekeeping was respectful about entering the cabin. Always had clean linens and towels. Well kept grounds. Quiet and very nice. 2nd KOA experience, and we love the sites in different states. Pool and activities were nice and well kept as well. Good stock in store, and ice cream area was nice and refreshing during pool time. Shuttle to kings dominion was so easy and convenient too! Shuttles clean and prompt and all the drivers were nice and chatty. We will be back!
So the family here are the absolute best . I have the utmost respect for the family here. Michelle is probably one of the kindest most helpful ladies here. Plus all the ladies some not pictured are sure to make you feel like your family!! Come and check them out if your looking to have a wonderful time.
It was one of the best family vacations I could have ever been on. The kids had a blast at the pool and playground, and all of us loved the cabin we were in. Also, every employee we dealt with was respectful, courteous, and thoughtful. Don't forget the free shuttle over to Kings Dominion that run about every 30 min.Rooms: 5/5
the staff was nice but the sites are very, very small and could use alot of landscaping/grounds work we had water at end of our site after small heavy rain and since sites are so small made it hard to get in our vehicle some site we're completely filled with water. The picture was not our site but there were a few just in our area with water on site like this Could be fixed by added dirt and grass to level up siteI would never take children here for actual vacation. I guess if you are just parking here to go to kings dominion it is fine but have been to much, much better KOA and didn't cost me as much as this one did. We will not stay again.
Cute little campground that is clean and well maintained. Everyone was friendly, quite, and unobtrusive. We rented a deluxe cabin that was adorable other than the showers see below. It was well maintained and clean. It had a veranda with a table and chairs underneath along with a patio and a nice stone fire pit with cooking grates. They also provide a gas stove for cook outs. The inside was well organized and very efficient with a rear BR with a full size bed and small built in tables along with a flatscreen tv. It had 2 full baths and a living room with a cathedral ceiling with 2 futon style couches that fold into queen sized beds. The loft was so cute and would be any kids dream space. They’re 2 spaces each with there own full size mattresses and there own tvs. It also has a small kitchenette with a sink, dorm sized fridge, microwave, and Keurig coffee machine. The central AC worked flawlessly which was a godsend with the 90+ weather we had. They have a cute little store for general supplies and a relaxing area in front of a fireplace if you have some laptop business you want to take care of. We used the pool one day which is rather large for a smaller campground like this. It was clean and they’re were plenty of reclining lounges and tables to sit at. Would definitely recommend this over any hotel in the immediate area. It’s nice and relaxing and you get much more privacy and character staying in the cabins vs a generic hotel room. Rooms: We rented one of the deluxe cabins. They’re adorable and the kids loved it. The only problem for some i.e. most will be the showers. They’re comically short. I’m 5’9” and the shower head went to my armpit. It’s so short all you can do is laugh. It’s not detailed either so you literally have to bend over to wash your face and head. We all just laughed it off because we weren’t there to take long luxurious showers we were there for the area amusement parks. Nearby activities: You’re right next door to the park so it’s like a 30 second commute. Safety: Very quite and well maintained campground. Everyone was very friendly.
Not as level a spot as we expected, but we couldn't complain, just for overnight. The ammenities here were great. Pool was spacious, showers and rest rooms were clean. There were bright lights where we camped which shown thru our blinds making it difficult to sleep. They do run shuttles back and forth to King's Dominion, which is awesome for families. I love KOA, and this was a nice spot, right off Interstate 95.
