I had out patient surgery this week. I was extremely nervous when I walked in but everyone was very nice and made me feel comfortable. My two pre op nurses were very sweet. A few people from different departments came to talk to me before my procedure which took my mind off of being nervous. They were all informative and made me feel at ease. By the time I was wheeled into the OR, I felt calm. My post op nurses were very nice as well. They sat with and spoke with me the whole time. Every few minutes they asked if I needed anything. I was so nervous before the surgery, thanks to the staff I had a good experience.
I have had ambulatory surgery here 3 times now in 3 years. This hospital is wonderful and is amazing to everyone that walks in here. The whole staff is so kind and really truly cares about everyone. Marc is the best and when he wheels you into the operating room he keeps you so calm and also Anthony is the nicest person. Would highly recommend this hospital for surgery.
Atrocious!!! I went via ambulance to RUMC due to heart palpitations, numbness in my arm, heavy breathing with an extensive history of cardiac problems!!! I would have gotten better medical care at the veterinarians clinic! I was treated like an animal.... I thought I was in a 3rd world hospital. After getting admitted, I was left 18 hours without food, water, IV fluids or any form of medical care.... and when I asked when I was going to see a doctor , they didn't know. They said they were Understaffed... and when I requested to be transferred, they denied my request. I asked to speak to a social worker and patient advocate, no one was available. If you value your life and the life of your loved ones...Stay far far away!! I am alive by the Grace of GOD and not their medical care....
I want to let the staffs who have communicated with us know !! You people are very rude and bad service!! imagine how you would feel if your family member was in the hospital and did not get proper answers and replies? It is very rude to always hang up on someone else's phone when they are not finished talking. You are all highly educated people doing a profession of serving the people, but such an attitude is really bad! If you just want a decent income, you can choose to do other jobs. Hospitals need caring people, if you don't have a conscience and sympathy hearts please go away
We had an unexpected visit to Emergency at RUMC when a junior teammate got injured during a game. The EMTs were professional and very friendly. Upon arrival we were placed in a semi secluded area while waiting for a room10-15min waitWe arrived in sweaty shorts and jersey but were provided blankets to keep us warm from the AC. A nurse/aid kept checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed and as comfortable as possible. We are from Bermuda and the rest of team at the field is continuing games so the extra care offered was very appreciated. We were pretty easy going and happy with the blankets and food. Since from out of country, we put a little curve ball in the normal process. We had a flight to catch the next day. So in the end, after results and determining it could be safe to travel. The injury got immobilized and prepped for the flight home for a specialist on home turf. Thank you for the exceptional service. As well, thanks to the security guard at the main lobby that looked out for us and called us a cab so we could get the rental car at stadium. Great service but we don't want to come back : we want to be injury free :
I have delivered a baby on August 12. My experience in Marernity unit was absolutely horrible. I dont know where to begin. First of All there are nurses which are super racist and treat you as if you are very low class. I was not alowed to stand up due to epidural and i needed to go to the bathroom. I asked the Nurse to helped me She Shouted NO FIRST YOU NEED TO EAT AND SLAM my door. I was absolutely shocked!!! I didnt say anything because i didnt have energy, but my need was immediate and ignored their request and went there myself. Now working with lawyers i do understand how trouble arw these type of nurses for the hospitals. The next day i didnt have any blankets for the baby, no water, needed some similac and other post partm care, i called them from 7 am till 1 pm. No one showed up. No one cared to come and help me. I asked the dr and he brought me stuff. Meanwhile the Nurses are laughing and speaking so loud in theirnstation. It was impossible to tolerate. I called and complained that i keep calling and no one is helping. What kind of hospital is and i will file a complaint and the nurse came and helped somewhere, and went to their station and started to make fun of me. No one cares to clean the room, offer you a new gown, or your bad sheets. The nurses are very Old and dont feel like dealing with anyone. I wish i didn chose this place.
Thank you to all of the Doctors, nurses, assistants and everyone else who took exceptional care of me. Everyone here was quick, caring, and beyond professional! I was hear for a kidney infection and I was in amazing hands the entire time. I also delivered both of my boys here and all three times my experience with RUMC was above and beyond! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!! Alisa
DO NOT GO TO THE MATERNITY WARD HERE!!! The obgyns from Pavlides are great, but post delivery, the maternity ward is terrible. They are severely under staffed, supervisors have no idea where their staff is or when they go home, they do not care about you or your child, and there is no nursery so your recovery is alongside your child, which after any type of delivery is unreal. I gave birth here, unfortunately. After a c section, my baby was placed in my room with me, my husband went home for a couple of hours thinking, naively, that I would have the help of the nurses on staff. After a c section, I could not situp, stand up, and could not get my baby out from the crib. The baby was crying because he was hungry, yet after calling for nurses, I waited 20 minutes, then after calling a second time after no one came, another 25 minutes. So, 45 minutes of my baby yelling his lungs out, someone finally came to hand him to me so I could feed him. Then, we had to stay a bit longer because the doctors said he had a higher billirubin level than they like. Baby had to have his blood tested every 4 hours. First of all, they did not tell us the actual billirubin levels, which as I later found out were NOT in fact higher than the standards set forth by the medical community, so there was no need to worry and no need for both me and the child to stay for an additional 2 days great way for them to bill your insurance though. Regardless, we overstayed where we had different doctors deliver different information to us about the baby's health and when we would be able to leave. Finally, I, after a c section, had to walk to the nurses station to get a doctor so that I can confront them to give me the actual billirubin levels, which were within normal range by that point, so I had assumed we would be discharged. NO. They wanted another blood sample in 4 hours. Okay. 8 hours later, with no technician who came to collect the blood, I again go to the nurses station. Apparently the lab technician completely ignored the request to collect a blood sample and left to go home. They had no one else to cover him. His supervisor did not know where he left, when he left, or what happened and why he did not collect the blood sample when scheduled. Further, in the morning the pediatrician on staff said to one of the nurses regarding this incident, "I have no idea why this patient was not already discharged." Aside from SOME friendly nurses who are severely overworked, this hospital is clearly poorly managed. Literally go ANYWHERE ELSE to give birth and have a better experience. EDIT: After the tesponse from Richmond, below, which asked to contact their patient relations team, I gave them a call and guess what....no one picked up even during their "working hours."
Worst Emergency Room Ive ever experienced. They were examining patients and saying everyones information/conditions out loud in the hallway in any random chair they could find. 20 patients in a HALLWAY 2 feet away from eachother… waiting HOURS, some with chopped fingers off, some had closed airways, some had leg blockages. the sadder part I can tell you about everybodys medical visit & EVEN THERE names HIPAA violation if I’ve ever seen it before. The nurses are rude & overworked.. The staff is so used to being cursed out all the time by patients they don’t even try to be kind anymore. Long story short, If you want actual professional medical care do NOT come here.
I never have any problem when I go to no Hospital. I have no I'll will with RUMC co ppl. I love the woman who work there all 10 in my book. Doctors do they JOB. And I love there Hospital food. Just perfect. 10 in my book.
