If I could rate this negative stars, I would. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT LIVE IN BUILDING 38. I had toilet water from the apartment above me come through my bathroom ceiling not once, not twice, but SIX TIMES. You’re telling it takes SIX TIMES to fix somebody’s bodily fluids coming out of my ceiling? No. It should’ve been fixed the first time since it was a health hazard. Not to mention I had to clean it up almost every time. It’s disgusting. The only gleaming star was the maintenance crew was always very nice. Although they couldn’t figure out how to fix the leak, they were very kind to me every time. Unfortunately, they turn our water off what feelings like every week for repairs sometimes more than once a week. It’s miserable but there aren’t many choices for small apartments in Athens. Before you tie yourself to RP, consider every single other option. I shouldn’t be paying nearly $1,000 a month for an apartment with a pee ceiling and heat that is like fire from a volcano. Oh you plan on going somewhere between 9pm and 7am? Don’t. You’ll never be able to find a parking spot. Good luck street parking 10 blocks away in the freezing cold. Want to wash your clothes? Forget it. The washer isn’t working. It’s really just a combination of everything that makes this place unbearable. Not the experience I was promised living here by ANY MEANS. DON’T BE FOOLED. BE CAREFUL OF YOUR INVESTMENT.
Great place for your first off campus housing experience. Super close to campus and Court St. I was able to bring my kittens with me and they absolutely love it. The view from my balcony is amazing. #myreasonatriverpark
If I could I wouldn't give any stars, maintenance "fixes" things that break not even 24 hours later, not only that but the washers and dryers never work and charge almost $2 for it as well. I can not wait to move out and was ready to move after a month of living here. I also feel overcharged, the community fee is not optional even if you never use the services!
Horrible maintenance, everything is always broken and they up charge you for washers and dryers that ruin your clothes. They charge you a ”community” fee when in reality they do nothing as a community and the lobby coffee never works either. Complete rip-off and they treat you like trash, and do not listen to any complaints or issues. Don’t live here.
River Park has a great location along with the amenities residents have 24/7 access to. Maintenance staff is great and they all work very hard to get the job done in a timely manner. Price points are very comparable around Athens for student housing.
River's Edge and River Park have been great places to live. I moved to River's Edge after my roommate graduated and left Athens. The location is a big plus and I can also easily take my dog onto the bike path for longer walks. Maintenance responds pretty quick when I have had an issue and the office staff are friendly and helpful.
Riverpark was an absolute dump and a miserable place to call home for the last 3 years. Half of the time we couldn't live here because we can't regulate the temp so it would get ridiculously hot. Water was off on a regular basis, and always at the worst times. Cockroaches crawl from the shower heads, mice run out of the walls, and the balconies were infested with wasps. Absolute dumpster fire. Do not waste your time here. It's worth the extra money to go someplace else. SAVE YOURSELF. DO NOT LIVE HERE.
I would like to preface this review with stating that I am not one to complain or ever take the time to write a review. For the past three years, I lived at Riverpark. Overall, the staff were nice and the location was very convenient. However, this is NOT a place for someone with ANY allergies to live. Also, I had to keep the balcony sliding door open from October through May due to the heat. Not once did we turn our heat on but because we lived on one of the top floors, the heat would rise. At times, it was unbearable to even live there and I would have to drive to my parents home to stay. The building is on a chiller system, so we were unable to adjust the temperature despite the fact we paid the AEP bill. These are just some things that I think potential renters should be made aware of.
River Park is an amazing apartment complex in a very safe area. I have lived here for two years and I love the clean uplifting atmosphere that River Park provides. The staff is super helpful and really cares about every resident. I would recommend River Park to anyone looking for a comfortable place to live in Athens.
Nice staff and generally clean. Extremely loud. No security whatsoever in a building of over 100 apartment. Overly-priced. More parking spots than bed rooms in the whole complex but they charge $250 per spot. Very greedy. Charged me a $200 cleaning fee for leaving an empty pizza box on the counter when I moved out. Doesn't do repairs or give out fire extinguishers. They were "replacing" my fire extinguishers and I moved out 5 months later, never gotten a new one. Kitchen ceiling light was falling off the ceiling, they refused repairs. Would disguise normal staff and managers as "maintenance" through email to do apartment checks without your knowledge when they leave you assuming they are going to actually repair something for once. Washers and dryers constantly out of service. They would shut the water off for "repairs" a minimum of twice a month. A few months they did this with only 20 minutes notice. Not the worst place in Athens but definitely only a choice when you can't find anywhere else.
