Roan Creek Campground is centrally located to a variety of out door attractions. We are 1/2 mile from the Doe Mountain access on HWY 167. You can stay with us and ride your ATV from the campground to the trail entrance.
Doe offers ATV trails, Mountain Biking, Hiking and Horseback riding.
During Hunting Season Doe is open to hunters. Stay with us at the Cabin and enjoy the 8,600 acres of hunting area.
Bikers- There is great riding in our area, the "Snake" and "Dragon's Tail" are just a short ride from the Campground. No packing gear for camping, we have it all.
Other Activities that are within minutes of the campground are Watauga Lake, rent our Kayaks for half a day or a full day on the Lake. Close by is the Appalachian Trail, Red Tail Golf Resort, Watauga Lake Winery, Virginia Creeper Trail, and Laurel Creek Waterfall.
There are plenty of great Restaurants in the area that you will want to visit again and again.
If you are looking for something a bit more relaxing, Roan Creek Campground is it. Sit on the front porch of our cabin or tents and enjoy the sounds of Roan Creek just steps away. Watch the deer eating from our cherry and apple trees.
We are sure you will come to love the area as much as we do and want to come again and again.

Great campground! Beautiful setting and clean bathrooms. Danny and Donna are accommodating and friendly as can be!

My favorite place to camp. Very peaceful and beautiful. Love the creek flowing through. Cleanest bathhouse in a private campground. Love love love this campground.

We stayed here for four nights in November. Very small privately owned campground. Danny the owner was great! The creek was peaceful and shower facilities were cute and clean. It’s a little intimidating pulling into the campground off of the road but we managed. Nearest restaurants and grocery stores are in Mountain City 15 minutes away. Would definitely like to go back when the temperatures are not as cold. However, the beautiful leaf colors were amazing this time of year.

Beautiful stream next to sites . Walnut trees and the nicest host,Danny of all the campgrounds we have stayed. Price and beauty unmatched. Recommend highly!  Restrooms: Some of the cutest country decorated restrooms I’ve ever seen

Beautiful campground very friendly owners. The campground was very close to the trail head for Doe Mountain. The campsite was very well maintained and the bathhouse was gorgeous Would definitely recommend.

This was a beautiful campground, not a lot of people , great every sites right along the creek. Very clean restrooms and showers, and the camp host was extremely friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend for a laid back visit!!!

Quiet, peaceful, beautiful spots.  Other campers were friendly, we built fires, ate snores, dinners together.

If your looking for a great experience look no further. Roan creek campground has clean bathhouse plenty of room on sites,  creek front camping for that one night getaway or month long vacation. They have specious cabins with front porch overlooking water front . Call and set up an experience tell them Wendy & Mitch sent you.

Very quiet and relaxing with creek running behind the campground. If you want a beautiful place to relax for great price this your place. If you need wifi and can't get off your social devices to enjoy the lovely nature then have a booster or park at the right area. Highly recommend this campground

Small campground right on the creek and in the mountains. Is sweet, people are kind and really nice. It's a great price a great location for us to get away the weekend
