Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Manasota Memorial Park
"Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Manasota Memorial Park in Manatee Country has been dedicated to providing compassionate care to families for over a century. The historic Manasota Memorial Park is located on State Road 70 and the Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home is on the north portion. Many families choose our location because of its central location to the Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch areas. Families plan services in our chapel or on the memorial park grounds including the Botanical Garden for Cremation. Our location is reminiscent of a historic Florida with Spanish moss hanging from the trees, hundred year old oaks throughout the property and tropical plants, birds and staghorn throughout the property."

She made it Adfordable for what we wanted to do . Me and my Family would highly recommend using Robert Toale and Sons Funeral home for any of their services. Sally Sells has gone above and beyond for my family. My great grandmother died 21 years ago. Unfortunately due to a sequence of events we had no control over, her final resting wishes were not carried out. Through an amazing discovery unraveling our family tree, my brother in law was able to find my great grandmother’s desired burial place. 21 years later her ashes were placed in her finally resting place she chose and secured back in the 80’s. We are so grateful for Sally’s guidance through this and her prompt attention to make this happen so quickly. Being out of state she has kept us updated through pictures and we are so grateful for her kindness.
My family was deeply hurt by a potentially illegal experience involving this company. TLDR: My grandfather’s casket was still open when they wanted to talk money. Horrible to deal with, no people skills; they mysteriously “buried” him when we weren’t present and said we weren’t allowed to visit the grave for a few days due to irrigation problems. My grandfather planned and paid for everything prior to his death. The company underwent a change of ownership between his payment and his death and were hesitant to honor the contract. They even tried to haggle us before the viewing was even over. My grandmother died a few years before and was cared for respectfully. We took the casket straight from the viewing to the burial sight a little ways away. We bore her casket, put her in the ground honorably, and said our peace to include several family rites and traditions. They told us after we settled accounts and with my grandfather’s casket still open, that we had to leave and they would have to do the burial another day next week because they were “fixing the sprinklers”. All of us had flown to Florida, so that would mean we couldn’t witness the burial. We pushed back, and after extensive negotiation, they said they would call us later in the afternoon around 4 pm and everything would be set up for us to watch the burial. With no phone calls and no responses to our calls, we went to the burial site around 5 or 6 pm to find unattended construction equipment near the grave site with mud, dirt and tracks everywhere. They had buried my grandfather before we got there and never told us. We had lost the opportunity for closure and could not witness his body go to its final resting place. The man who coordinated our contract had left the office and could not be reached. We hastily performed as much of our family’s tradition as possible with construction vehicles and landscapers operating equipment as we prayed. This experience left my family feeling empty and violated. This occurred around September 2021 and I debated for a long time whether or not to leave a review as I don’t typically write them, good or bad. I hope they didn’t steal or sell my grandfather’s body, and I hope no other family has to go through this kind of experience amidst all the complication of saying goodbye to a loved one.
Bill McCluney is hands down the most compassionate and knowledgeable person I’ve ever crossed paths with in the funeral business. I am an administrator at an Assisted Living facility and we work with dozens of funeral homes and funeral directors. They all pale in comparison to working with Bill. He listens with care and does his best to address all of the family’s concerns, both big and small. When tragedy struck my family we turned to Bill to help navigate scary waters. My family can not praise him enough and we are honored to refer him to other families.
My mum passed away first week of September. I was told my mum’s ashes were going to be ready in 3 weeks. It has been more than a month, that I got a called informing that the urn I chose from their catalog is not available. How can you offer something if you don’t have it? On my mum’s first month anniversary, we had to organize the “celebration of “life” without her ashes. When we made the contract with this funeral home, they gave us the timing. They never explained it was going to take longer for everything. We tried to be patience; but this is a joke. I have been calling this funeral home for updates about my mum’s cremation date; I think they forgot about that since the director called me to inform that they schedule her cremation 3 weeks after they told us everything was going to be ready by the 3rd week. I thought I was dealing with professional; but I was wrong.
William McCluney was very caring and compassionate. He took care of every detail and made my father’s cremation arrangements a seamless process. Everyone at Robert Toale and Sons were very professional.
My mom passed on September 5th, she was still not cremated approximately 3 weeks later, I’m not sure what they we’re waiting on! And I have yet to get my necklaces for my sister and I with mom’s fingerprint! To say the least I’m pretty disappointed.
Craig Green and Shirley Sanchez were nothing short of incredible helping me through the process of arrangements and planning. They put me at ease and walked me through step by step. Thank you both for your kindness empathy and compassion.
Sally was very professional and was excellent at helping us walk through the process. She helped what could be a daunting task to be very manageable and comfortable.
Marie and the rest of the staff took care of our every need and answered all of our questions. My father’s service was lovely and we are so thankful for all they did to make it happen!
