It’s a beautiful park. Plain and simple. Took my daughter down here because she loves water and looking at large bodies of water rivers, lakes and such We threw rocks in the water, played at the playground, saw some geese. It’s really well kept, has a super nice walking trail and some really nice views of boats, near by bridges and barges. Also a great spot for Pokémon Go, if you’re still into that. OH, also the HUGE American flag is a must see, pretty neat stuff.
Loved this place as a kid, currently at least one entrance from the bypass bridge that was recently worked on is currently closed due to construction. At least As of today. Sad that I wanted to take my kids down here and there was no posted signs of a detour.
Since moving up the Beaver County from the city, I had a tough time finding a place to hang out by the river with all the industry in the way. This park fits the bill. It's so beautiful and peaceful, with awesome views of the bridges, lots of waterfowl, and beaver activity! Plus when the water is lower, there is some good glass foraging along the shore.
Wonderful place! Great spot to do some railfanning too!
The park was flooded. It was sad to see. The river I'd after all a carrier and messenger of the sky. The rain was endless and pummeling the river in addition to the ice melting the river flooded the park.
I grew up at this park, my family and I have been members of the Friends of the riverfront for almost 30 years. It's one place that can make you feel at home... It's a very safe and family friendly area, the playground is lacking, but there's lots of swings. The flag park is beautiful, a nice way to be tribute our ancestors, in a place that makes you feel connected. There's lots of things to do on land, and many pavilions available to you, as well as more private picnic areas that can be rented. There is electrical outlets available to you at the pavilions. Not even mentioning all the possibilities on the water... Its a fantastic place to start and carry on family traditions. I think you will enjoy this diamond in the rough. Swimming off shore is not recommend, lots of hazards laying along the bottom... Swimming off boat is much safer. But be aware that there is a very strong undertow, especially where the two rivers meet. Take proper precautions in the water I'm sure you will enjoy this park and it's convenient location as much as my family and I have over the decades.
Very nice well kept park along the river and close to the train tracks. I have used it mostly for walking but there are shelters for small family picnics. Currently construction is happening along the road. But still a nice pretty place to spend time looking at the boats in the river and the trains close by and on bridges.
Nice place to relax by the river, train watch with little ones, and learn a little local history
It was very nice and peaceful. The last thing i saw was the butterflies it melted my heart. This should be done all over the world. Families need a peaceful place to pray and meditate, God and others that are dealing with the same issues are the only ones that know. Bless the souls of the children
Very windy, as is expected along the Ohio River, but so much construction across from the pavilion we used that we could barely talk to each other. Picnic table was a nice surprise...made from composite materials so it hadn't been destroyed by graffiti or decay. Benches were also in great shape, although next time I think I'll take a cushion. They're a bit hard. We left earlier than planned because of the excess noise. Not a bad couple of hours, but we'll look for someplace a bit quieter for our next get-together.
