Check in was pleasant and friendly. The gentleman was helpful and informative. He made sure to mention , because of my two small dogs, that “ we have snakes that don’t like dogs here” . Just wanted to make sure I knew. So i thought “ ok , I’ll keep them close to me and away from foliage and areas snakes hide in. Now as for the site , I was told it was their overflow area ad no cable, that’s fine BUT not level, and weeds, tall enough to hide a snake EVERYWHERE. Then to top it off, the OVERFLOW area is $75. Per NIGHT!!! Wow! For that kind of nightly charge I expected a really nice campground, only to find it on the lower end of average. I guess if you’re all that’s available you CAN charge that amount , It def isn’t worth that price.
After reading the reviews, we almost decided to go someplace else but this park was conveniently located near the HWY so we took a chance and we were happy to find that the reviews are deceiving. The park is clean. Great customer service. We were in a motorhome so we did not hear any traffic noise. Nice playground for the kids. Great views of the mountains and hiking access. I am glad we found this place on our way to Yellowstone.
If you are looking for a destination campground this may not be it. We camped here for a week on the way to Utah and it was great for what we needed. It was clean, easy access, all the standard KOA amenities and service was exceptional. The downside is that it is a gravel lot so if you are looking for lush location and lots of sitting outside, this is probably not for you.
Negatives: Campsite sits next to 5 massive gas containers just off the freeway which you can hear all night. Community bathrooms with door codes. The door code for the women’s was broken but not on the men’s. The wash basin was also broken. The pool was out of commission but this was not listed on the website. Cigarette butts throughout. Positives: The playground was awesome with a tether ball, REAL seesaws, a climbing wall, and cool slides. We got a “patio” which had glass on it, but it also had Adirondack chairs and a private fire pit. Overall, this location was waaaayyyy overpriced for the lack of amenities at a KOA. I would just stay in a parking lot next time.
Nice clean park right on the highway. Sparkling clean swimming pool very cold, great place for a stopover, VERY quiet! Town is close and in the middle of not much they have every store you might want!Service: 5/5
3 stars is pretty generous. They do not list prices so ask ask ask. Otherwise the will give you the most expensive they have. In Palm Springs, Southern CA near San Diego in green rolling hills I paid less. Here it is windy, hot and unappealing. $108 a night is a lot to pay when you can't even connect to the park internet it is so weak. Walkability: Not walking distance to anything.
We stayed in late March in 31 degree weather and it was amazing that they were open when most campgrounds are closed this time of year. We needed a place to stay for a night with electric and bathrooms/showers and this was the perfect spot! Kinda pricey but worth it! Such a beautiful view of the mountains! It was very nice, quiet, private, and the bathrooms/showers were very clean. The customer service was excellent! Highly recommend!
A wonderful place to camp along our road trip. Staff were exceptional and accompanied our late check in after hours. KOA never disappoints!Rooms: 5/5
Nice place. Nice folks too. My reason for the 4 star review is because the picnic table was unusable because the grass strip it was on was at 30° or more angle. I'd come back here and stay again.Service: 4/5
Convenient stop with easy access. Very nice people and we loved the fenced patio site. Close to grocery shopping and other amenities. We enjoyed our stay. Nearby activities: Historic downtown Rock Springs is about 10 minutes away.
