Really close to Carlsbad Caverns and a great pool with water slides for the kids. The beds are comfortable. The hotel is a typical Roadway Inn. The rooms aren't very fancy, but they are serviceable. You pay a bit more than expected, but you are paying for the location. The breakfast dining area is a few outdoor picnic tables and the breakfast choices are simple. I'd stay here again specifically for the water slides and pool. The kids really enjoyed them.
Rooms were clean and very large. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location of this hotel is perfect if you are going to Carlsbad, you roll out of bed and almost fall into Carlsbad National Park, the hotel is right at the entrance to the park. Not a lot of restaurant choices in the area, we saw one restaurant next to the hotel and the restaurant inside of the visitors center at Carlsbad Caverns. The breakfast at the hotel was good, they had waffles, cold cereal and pastries. If we go back to Carlsbad I would absolutely stay there again.
The beds are a little to firm for me. Other then that this place is great. The pool and water slides are nice. Water pressure for the shower was great a nice breakfast. Rooms are nice a big. They had microwave and a mini refrigerator which was really nice.oh ha and it is only 7 miles from the caves..
This is not a fancy hotel, it's a one-star motel in a town with a population of eight. Do not have high expectations for this place, because you will be very disappointed. The rooms were clean, big, and fairly quiet, but the motel is run down. There seems to be construction, but it's just pebbles laying on the roof. The pool is great and the water park area is closed. Don't bother with the nearby restaurant because it's horrible. If you are visiting the caverns or Guadalupe this is a great place to stay. Just be prepared for a one-star motel.
We made a last minute choice to stay at The Roadway Inn. Our original plan was to spend a few hours exploring Carlsbad Caverns and be back on the road. When my wife got sick, a second day was added. I'm not happy my wife is ill but I'm thrilled that we are here! The room is located just outside the entrance to the park, a short 15 minute drive and we are at the visitors center. It's roomy, clean, and comfortable, has a new TV, AC runs well and for Carlsbad is a pretty good value! Across the street is a neat gift shop and museum. The restaurant is rustic, has good food and has reasonable prices. There is a small water park here as well that is open in the summer. My daughter was sad to find out that the pool is closed for the season. She wants to spend a few more days taking different tours in the caves at a later date. I get the feeling this is not the last night I will spend here. This spot has exceeded all my expectations!
Friendly female staff on the phone when we called to inform them we would be checking in late. Friendly mail Clerk when we checked in. Room is large with comfy beds and good heating and cooling system. Small fridge, microwave and coffee maker available. Everything is clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast with waffles is available in the lobby however the lobby does not offer any tables for seating and is extremely small. That was a little bit of a disappointment. The waterslide Park area is next to the pool but it is separate and closed. The pool however is open and looks inviting. This is a nice place 4 a good price being so close to the caverns
We read the reviews and planned ahead so we were not disappointed. We stopped in town and picked up sandwiches to have later for dinner. We brought some fruit to go with our muffin and juice for breakfast. We made our reservation on line and asked for a roll away. When we arrived our room was ready just as we requested. The other hotels in the area were twice the price and 20 - 30 minutes away from the Caverns. This little hotel serves it's purpose and allows you to save money. It is old and not fancy but it has a comfortable bed and hot showers. There are microwaves and refrigerators in the room. Smells a little stuffy but our room was clean. Internet works well. Everyone there very nice and helpful.
The room was very convenient to Carlsbad Caverns, but could have used some maintenance. The pool/water park that was there was great and very welcoming on a hot day. Be prepared to take the free breakfast to a table outside or back to your room as there is no dining area inside.
Nice place to stay before you enter Carlsbad Caverns National Park. The rooms are very large with high ceilings. The breakfast was adequate, nothing spectacular. The beds are comfortable. One little known fact they have a small pizza oven and you can order a large pizza and have it under 20 minutes. Which is a huge plus because there's not a whole lot to eat at Whites City.
Rooms are super clean, they serve free breakfast, they’re smart enough to have full size fresh cooked pizzas and snacks for sale since everything closes early. Our bathroom was spotless, bed linens sparkling and fresh, comfortable beds, great water flow and temperature, friendly staff, mini fridge with freezer and microwave in room, plenty of space. Highly recommend!
