As a travel enthusiast and history buff, this place truly exceeded my expectations. The museum is a delightful tribute to the legendary baseball player, Roger Maris. The moment I stepped inside, I was immediately immersed in his fascinating journey to greatness. The collection of artifacts, memorabilia, and photographs was beautifully curated, offering a profound insight into his life and achievements. For any sports lover, this place is an absolute must-visit! If you're visiting North Dakota or passing through the area, I highly recommend adding the Roget Maris Museum to your itinerary. It's an experience that seamlessly blends sports history and local heritage.
Accessible whenever the mall is open and it's completely free. Who doesn't know the story of Roger Maris, who broke Babe Ruth's home run record in 1961? This museum is on one of the hallways in the West Acres Mall and includes a small seating area with baseball stadium seats from Yankee Stadium and a looped video. Maris a native of Hibbing Minnesota, was all class and only agreed to have this museum available if there was no charge as he did not feel it was right to capitalize on his success. So this was built in 1984 and remodeled in 2003. Viewing the memorabilia and watching the films is perhaps a half hour. Worth checking it out for any baseball fan.
If visiting/passing by Fargo, ND head to West Acres Mall, the small Museum is there. It's free and its a chronicle of Roger Maris historic 61 home runs in 1961. A must visit for a baseball, yankee fan.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Located within West Acres Mall I was hugely disappointed to find this display as simply a long display of memorabilia along a wall. I full expected this to be inside at least a small store space which maybe better suited to this
Amazing place could have looked for hours, just a window display and stadium seats but unbelievable for baseball history. Only wish there was something for souvenirs to buy.
Super fun idea! Great location and loved the set up! Great to sit down and learn about a historical figure while shopping or grabbing a bite to eat
I give this museum 5 stars because I am a big Roger Maris fan, and because this humble man insisted the admission would always free.

I stopped by the West Acres Mall while visiting Fargo and just happened upon a large display case containing artifacts and displays in tribute to one of the New York Yankees M&M boys, Roger Maris. It was a great surprise for me, and I spent more than an hour reading and looking at almost everything in the display. This, come to find out is regarded as the Roger Maris Museum. The display contains several homerun balls hit by Roger during that Historic 1961 season when he broke Babe Ruth’s single season homerun record. I also got to sit and a real seat from old Yankee Stadium while watching video clips from that 1961 season. Also on display is a replica of Roger’s monument that stand in Yankee Stadium’s Monument Park along with a replica of his Yankee Locker. This is a wonderful tribute to Roger and his career, and I would highly recommend taking time to visit it when you are in the Fargo Area.
Small area of the mall that honors River nicely
