First time here during the off peak hours between lunch/dinner and it was a great experience all around. We got the first handroll set and a donburi lunch special and it was all really great. My favorite handroll was the salmon one as it was pretty balanced with fish, rice, and not too saucy. The crunchiness of the tuna roll due to the fried shallots was such a satisfying bite too. My donburi was loaded with fish and as it came with miso and edamame too, $16 is not bad. The quality of all the fish was so fresh and so clean. This place gives off a more premium and trendy kind of vibe with a lot of modern and minimalist touches. There are only bar seats and it can get really social with the staff and other diners. Although there was barely anyone there when we went at 4pm I can see this place getting really crowded. Our server totally hooked it up with some free sauces because it was our first time. He was very interactive and made sure we were well taken care of so thanks Daniel! Food: 8/10 Service: 9/10 Atmosphere: 7/10 Value: 6/10
The service was friendly and respectful, I enjoyed their service and food. The orders and drinks were hand crafted and fresh. I tried a few items I’ve never had before and enjoyed every single one. I recommend their lobster and truffle and Uni
THIS IS THE PLACE. Incredible food and service. There’s an ART to the food and the timing is part of it. I read the reviews and was so disappointed that folks nitpicked the service because I can confirm - it’s the complete opposite. The food is to die for, the prices are reasonable, the quality of service was top notch.
First off I got the seven set and roll and each roll just kept getting better the Touro amazing the Unagi amazing now. Let me tell you about the bowl half taro, half salmon. It was perfection with a Masego. Cannot wait to come back here at least once a month. The place is very small so I can understand why they don’t want people standing inside. Service was good.
Phenomenal! Limited bar seating, but definitely worthwhile. The various ROL hand-rolled sushi options are fantastic! I tried probably 5 different ones, and the spicy tuna was so amazing I had a second. Be warned, you will spend some $$ here because you just to try so many!Recommended dishesCrispy Rice Tartare, Spicy Tuna Crunch
I ordered online and came to pick up, and it was pretty fast. The customer service is nice, but some rolls are unrolled before I enjoyed them which was a little bit sad. Parking is plenty, and there are also other good stuff in the menu, I will try next time.
Impressed- honestly- after having taken this concept from Kazu Nori- it seems very well done thought out, the details- it’s all there! I’ve had most of the rolls on their menu and they were great- untraditionally. They are marinated and mixed with fish and sauces. The whole concept as he must eat the role within the 15 seconds. It’s put down or else it’s lost its crunch factor.
interesting rolls. The restaurant is not big, there are no tables, only a bar counter. There are tables outside, if you order your own you can sit there. Everything is delicious, dessert is also Panna cotta.
Always fills my KazuNori fix when I'm too lazy to go to LA which is almost always. Their lunch specials are the best deal and their donburis are amazing. As usual Kei concepts knocks their flavors out of the park. Personally I feel the handrolls are the least exciting part compared to their donburis. It would be better if they roasted their seaweed more since it always ends up sticking to the roof of my tongue.
We came here with reservations on Friday at 7 pm and got seated at 7:20. We had a difficult time deciding on what to order so they did let us order from the takeout menu that had maki boxes. This was very nice to allow us to get more variety. We decided on getting a salmon hand roll, mixed donburi, shishito peppers, and maki box with scallop, spicy tuna crunch, toro, and yellowtail. Starting with the shishito peppers, they were flavorful and not overcooked. They still had a good integrity to them. It paired well with the dipping sauce, which was eel sauce based. The salmon hand roll came next and was good quality, nothing extraordinary. Same across the board for the maki box. All the fish was fresh and it was simple, no frills. Finally, our favorite was the donburi. It came with yuzu kosho sauce, which was potent so only a little bit was needed. I enjoyed the salmon in the donburi most, it had rich and complex flavors. The albacore was lacking, not much flavor. Also, great fish to rice ratio with the donburi bowl. We felt the service was good, despite the slight wait. The decor was clean, and modern with good music that wasn't too loud and overall giving off a good vibe. They don't have the most extensive menu but good enough for a nice dinner out!
