New Student Orientation is a program designed for incoming first year Rutgers students - traditonal, non-traditional, and transfer- to help acclimate them to the University.
Rutgers University New Student Orientation and Family Programs is a journey at Rutgers that begins with enrollment and extends into and beyond a student's first semester. Summer Orientation and Scarlet Knight Days help facilitate a successful transition to life at Rutgers University and prepare students for the educational opportunities and intellectual, cultural and social communities that Rutgers has to offer. Dedicated faculty and staff throughout the University have shown a genuine commitment to developing intentional and valuable programs intended to equip students with the knowledge, skills and tools needed to achieve ultimate success in their college careers.
New Student Orientation is designed to help students:
- Navigate the campus and identify available resources.
- Facilitate connections with students, faculty and staff.
- Learn about academic expectations and intellectual opportunities.
- Become knowledgeable about Rutgers history, and contributions to the local and global community.
- Understand the meaning and importance of getting involved and becoming a proud member of the Rutgers community.
