It was great! So very clean and all the food is so fresh and carefully laid out. Nice little area with containers of nuts, candy , dried fruits, and things you don't see often.
Never any carts because they have all been stolen by the homeless population in the area. Almost always someone being arrested for shoplifting. Never enough staff in checkout lanes and the self checkout person floats between self checkout and customer service desk, so if you have any issues, you will wait forever to get help.
This Safeway has got to be one of the worst around. They overcharge on every product and have such a horrible selection. Not sure why Safeway doesn’t want to put any effort into this store. Do yourself a favor and go to sprouts or King Soopers on Youngfield. Covid tests or two dollars more here than they were at the King soopers. Shame on you Safeway.
This Safeway is completely unbelievable. Besides never having carts or even baskets, they clearly don't care about the handicapped or seniors. I fell in the store, the standing clerk was looking at me and didn't even attempt to assist me. I'm a handicapped senior. And when their freezers break down, which is unfortunately somewhat often, they just REFREEZE THE MELTED FOOD. I don't think that is even safe. So, I can't trust their frozen food anymore. All in all, not a pleasant experience at that store. They will deny everything I imagine.
Generally not great. Often, there’s never any carts available, so grab one on your way in. The best coupons are often in the app, but I found finding them can be hard. The store often leaves expired deal tags out in their store, so if you see something on sale, check the valjd thru dates. Really frustrating. Often short staffed but staff have been friendly, and it’s less busy than competitors.
Spent over 400 dollars and all the food went bad in two days. Days and days before the dates on it!!!! All the fresh meat, the breads, the dairy products!!! The frozen foods had all been beaten to hell in the packages and when opened they were so bad they couldn’t Ben be cooked. Waste of my entire food budget for the next three weeks! Also Safeways don’t let u walk out the door with carts anymore,Ike that the hell is that about??? I will never ever step foot in a single Safeway again!!!!
The 2 stars is for some of the nice workers there. Check your expiration dates folks I just bit into a frozen pizza that tasted weird like how keosene smells, - expired turned out to be nov 2021. Bought on Saturday July 8th 2023. I've had other things at many Safeways off by a few weeks or months but this tasted rancid is crazy. and what is with the no carts issues?
Good produce, decent meat and beer sections. The customer service is pretty bad though. They only ever have 2-3 people working up front, often with no one tending the self-checkout area.
Absolutely no shopping carts - in store or parking corrals. Ended up leaving with no groceries. Update. I went back to the store to get some specials. I was there between 4:30 and 5 and the butcher was already closed and all the meats covered up. The spiral cut hams were gone and no one there to restock. I also was going to get some Hawaiian roles and they were all old and hard. I ended putting everything back I was going to buy and got just what I needed for dinner tonight. I am not sure what is going on but this store used to be one of the best. I don’t know if it is no workers, poor management, of with the merger it is just on the chopping block, but I miss the old Safeway here. I did see about 20 carts. An employee indicated they are being taken by the homeless.
I am a Safeway fresh pass customer. I paid $100 for the membership about a year ago. I became almost a full time customer because King Soopers Applewood is really going downhill especially when it comes to customer service. Safeway in Wheat Ridge blows everyone out of the water when it comes to their rather kind and small town type customer care. Every department in Safeway has excellent interactions with customers and always a smile. This is the main reason I switched. Also, the fresh pass is amazing with all the perks and major savings plus they deliver. Can't go wrong with that!! I am very pleased with the Customer Care Crew they have at this location. However, there's always a flaw somewhere and this particular flaw is the only reason I didn't give all stars in my review. Delivery and Pick up orders department. This area needs major changes. I used to order for delivery a lot because I don't drive and medical reasons. I was looking forward to this. After my first delivery, I learned a lot about the app and ordering specifics on line. There's areas in everything you order where you can pick substitutions if out of stock or choose no substitute which means you are minus that out of stock item. There's another area where you can add notes for the people shopping for your order. I will say this for fact...... NOBODY TAKES THE TIME TO READ IT!! Also they will subsitute your ON SALE out of stock item for the most expensive one without a care in the world. Claim to be out of stock on some items I can clearly see with my own eyes, is indeed in stock. One time I got my delivery and I met the driver as soon as he arrived and witnessed to me this was how he received it. I had meat bleeding all over my entry way and cleaning supplies somehow were opened and leaking. Yes I was reimbursed but that's not the point. The point is every single time I ordered for delivery something has gone wrong except one time and I ordered quite often for delivery basically a whole year. I say NO SUBSTITUTIONS ON EVERY SINGLE ITEM. I've even tried to say it under ADD NOTES. I've tried to add a few notes about my items but they just get overlooked or not even read. My bet nobody cares enough to read it. I've had to make a phone call to Fresh pass customer service every time except once. I was also supposed to receive a phone call from Safeway when I last ordered delivery. That never happened either. Makes me wonder about how the employees truly feel about their customers. I can understand once but this has happened to me for the entire year I've PAID for Safeway fresh pass. I'm not sure I want to renew based on the lack of care I've received ONLY in delivery and Pick up department. Either the app needs improvements or the employees do. Maybe both but I'm not happy with it
